While I understand the cool factor, and while it is well done, of canopy with smears all over it, I do not expect such mess on it if plane is not abandoned on some field for a static display. I mean aircraft crew would clean such mess before flying.

Maybe some day we will have dynamic bugs, etc. on a canopy in DCS but till then overdoing the weathering should be for plastic kit planes.

Probably already detected and included in the fix you made, Rudel, but ARK channel selector buttons disappear when depressed.

Thank you very much, Rudel. I highly and sincerely admire the care that has been poured into this aircraft by you fellas. (And I think I understand the pain of reworking so many things over and over after core updates... )

Thanks, twice!

Rudel, why are you so keen on the overly dirty cockpit? I'm all for realism, but if you fly the Fishbed in a simulated 1975 scenario the current cockpit that looks like it's been neglected for 30 years makes no sense. It's not like the module doesn't already have switchable cockpits, unrealistic ASP options, and a game mode built in. A simple option like what the Mi-8 has should be the standard.

the dirt is a real problem in the cockpit.

you can easily loose sight to a possible target or wrongly interpret a spot of dirt as a target ...

if i was a real pilot in this real plane i'd clean it up a bit ...

to bad i allready bought the Mig21. That kind of behavior(relying on Users to fix issues) from a DEV on a important subject (playability) is just sad :(

'controlling' the Ka50 feels like a discussion with the Autopilot and trim system about the flight direction.

the flares illuminate that single part of the cockpit as never before.

I believe this is a general problem with the DCS lighting engine and not specifically related to the MiG-21: engaging the afterburner in the M-2000C lights up the cockpit as well for example, and causes reflections on the radar display :music_whistling:

whats sad is this inability to adapt

you all are always asking others to make concessions for you

this just does not make sense in the given case... I am all for the option of "wornout" and "new" cockpit as I can see it adding the value for the immersion. However as it is now, I am forced to use user mods (most MP mig21 users have done it till date). What is more, this is the only plane in DCS in which user fights with deconflicting canopy dirt and the environment.

Bottom line is that there is fault in logic... if it would hold, I should been flying WW2 DCS plane in a rotten state. ;)
