Triple Screens : ATC Messages

When using a single monitor, I assume the Pilot/ATC dialogue appears on the upper left-hand side of the screen and the ATC menu appears on the upper righ-hand side of the screen.

I have a three screen Eyefinity setup and therefore this information is positioned in the far top corners of the two outer screens - not ideal when seated in front of the middle screen.

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the default position and font size for the ATC menu and Pilot/ATC dialogue?

Add a gui viewport to your screen config file (the one you use in /Config/MonitorSetup):

_ = function(p) return p; end;

name = _('Triple screen config');

Description = 'Three 1920x1080 screens'

Viewports =

{

Center =

{

x = 0;

y = 0;

width = 5760;

height = 1080;

viewDx = 0;

viewDy = 0;

aspect = 5760 / 1080;

}

}

Gui=

{

x= 1920;

y= 0;

width= 1920;

height= 1080;

}

UIMainView = Gui

restrict UI to center screen

ie:

GUI =

{

x = 1920;

y = 0;

width = 1920;

height = 1080;

}

UIMainView = GUI

Thanks guys...

That was rapid!

I'll give it a try - what about changing size / colour of font?

Does this thread still work with latest version of DCSW?

Hi again,

Thank you for your replies...

I have changed my config file and it works ... GREAT!

Would appreciate someone just checking to make sure everything is 100%

name = _('su25t');

Description = 'Left MFCD on the left and camera on the center'

Viewports =

{

Center =

{

x = 0;

y = 0;

width = 5760;

height = 1080;

viewDx = 0;

viewDy = 0;

aspect = 5760/1080;

}

}

RIGHT_MFCD =

{

x = 2940;

y = 1080;

width = 553;

height = 377;

The viewport GUI for ATC works great, but Im wondering if it is possible to also restrict the F10 map to the center screen only, same with the multiplayer server selection interface and the main menus. Is that also doable?

someone had a fix for MP Menus, but I dont remember where it went.

I just make sure my GUI is limited to my center screen, everything else is fine for me.

I was very disappointed when I got my second screen to use with Helios to find that the map was no longer usable and decided to stop flying until DCS 2. I'm hoping that fixes the map issue with multi monitors and generally makes DCS more multi monitor friendly, as a lot of simmers use such setups.

Map works fine for me..? 3 Screen + 1 Extended.

As Long as the Main view is designated (1920x1080 or 5760x1080) the map wont leave those constraints.

I have to set the resolution in DCS to 3840x1200 (for my two monitors in a side-by-side config) to be able to export things like the ABRIS to the secondary monitor, to be displayed underneath the Helios overlay.

Then my monitorsetup lua is something like this (I'm not sure if this was the one I was using last time I tried, so it might not be exactly right):

_  = function(p) return p; end;
name = _('Zeen');
Description = 'KA50 Dual Horizontal'
Viewports =
{
Center =
{
 x = 0;
 y = 0;
 width = 1920;
 height = 1200;
 viewDx = 0;
 viewDy = 0;
 aspect = 1.6;
}
}
ED_KA50_Shkval =
{
 x = 1927;
 y = 7;
 width = 809;
 height = 650;
}
ED_KA50_ABRIS =
{
 x = 3251;
 y = -1;
 width = 587;
 height = 838;
}
ED_KA50_PVI =
{
x = 1956;
y = 678;
width = 212;
height = 107;
}
ED_KA50_Ekran =
{
x = 3080;
y = 955;
width = 162;
height = 116;
}
ED_KA50_UV26 =
{
x = 2751;
y = 533;
width = 307;
height = 84;
}
GUI =
{
 x = 0;
 y = 0;
 width = 1920;
 height = 1200;
}
UIMainView = GUI

and the map is spread across both monitors, despite what UIMainView is set to. So hopefully DCS 2 will let us export things to an additional monitor without having to extend the main resolution to cover that monitor, which waste resources.
