Glad I'm not the only one that suffers this particular malady every so often........:D

You should have gone for a model that insists on earning her own money. I know for a fact they do exist. ;)

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Just a question,

so you would rather not have it at all, then for it to be a separate install? Where is the gain in that?

Correct. The gain is I save $50 and don't get a headache trying to update 2 pieces of software when ED has enough trouble updating 1.

Intel i5-2500k @ 4.4GHz w/ H70 liquid cooler, ASRock PRO3-M Z68 Mobo, 32G 1600Mhz Mushkin RAM, EVGA GTX970 4GB , OCZ Agility 3 128g SSD, SanDisk 240g SSD, Win7 64-bit

Anon6 DCS Community

I can't speak for the entire ANON6 DCS community but most members are thrilled with the idea of DCS taking on the WW2 flight sim market. We can only hope reaching a potentially larger market will benefit the entire DCS community with more fans of the DCS Series in general.

However if out of this project some long standing roadblocks to community growth ie support for a greater number of players online with dedicated servers is not in the project plan I wonder how many fans will be converted from current WW2 flight sims in the market or soon to be in the market.

Although if every plane was modeled like the P51-D Mustang you certainly have the cornerstone for something really special. Like the Huey this module has been worth every penny in my books.

Soon, soon my friend :D

You will be thanking god for WWII content, in any shape or form. Hundreds and hundreds of new players from other sims. And when the War of thunder crowd gets bored, or gets a taste for something more...

WWII is what will bring you dedicated servers, multi-crew, ground radars, F-35s, F-18 and all the other stuff that all these new players will want to try, and it will become profitable to develop such modules at a much faster rate than before WWII.

We will take your apology then.

Else,

we blitzkrieg you.

A little more lead time would have been nice.

My Youtube channel has been inactive too long, and I'm planning to start crankin' out Let's Plays again. After reading this notice, my plan is to record some P-51 vs. FW-190 fights. I'll upload that with the explanation that the proposed DCS WWII sim will have at least that level of detail, with more 1944 specific content. Sound fair enough?

I'm not one of the really bigtime Youtubers, but I can certainly spread the word to several thousand people, and strongly suggest they back you.

I think Kickstarter is amazing new thing for gamers who like more hardcore gaming experience.

Big publishers are moving towards consoles and dumbing down their titles, making them more fast paced and flashy. I am sure no big publisher will fund a serious flight (or any other) simulation in near future. The bar is being set higher and higher for production quality and realism, and the user base isn't growing. Actually I will speculate that it is decreasing, because newer generations have smaller attention spans and fewer young people are getting into simulations.

That's why all of us flight sim lovers should "unite", set our differences aside and fund games like this whenever we can.

You guys definitely have my money, and best wishes, when you start up the preorder!

EDIT: By the way, word somehow has to go out that you guys worked on the best ww2 flight sim so far, for those people that don't know that already. Maybe the community can assist you with that, since you can't put that in your announcements.

I'm behind this project at 100%! I missed the kickstarter for Star Citizen, but I certainly won't be missing this one.

I suggest Luthier speaks with a couple of guys in order to have better visibility (see following sites) and starts a facebook/twitter/youtube page ASAP. I REALLY want this kickstarter to succeed.

Flight Sim Community

SimHQ

Sim Flight

http://www.simflight.com/

Heck, maybe even IGN for all I care! If I remember correctly they loved the A-10C back in the days.

Youtube visibility could also be very beneficial! (most of these guys fly with War Thunder or Arma, but they are great WW2 history enthusiasts)

And, of course, last but most certainly not least:

TotalBiscuit!

I'm pretty sure they will all jump on the occasion to promote the sim (or at least make the gaming community aware that sh*t's getting real!)

I'm willing to put down all the cash I'd spend on allowed computer expenditures for the next few months along with the money I saved not purchasing the Warthog setup (even though it was very tempting) and building my own usb throttle. I'm also telling everyone I know who might be remotely interested to pledge at least something to the effort. I believe in what you guys are proposing and I'll do my best to be patient as you make our dreams come true...aircraft by aircraft.
