[REPORTED]Arresting cables on carrier animation

Eaglewings

Recommended Posts

The arresting cable on the Stennis does not show animation by staying hooked to the Hornet.

I wanted to check which wire I got and noticed this.

I can trap alright but the cables does not get stuck to the hook.

I watched the AI (F-14) aircraft land on the Carrier also and same issue. All four cables are lying on the deck.

Anyone else notice this or is it from my end?

Not seen this myself.

Ensure you have removed all unofficial modifications ( if any )

Run a cleanup and repair or verify games files if using steam.

Post a short track replay showing the issue

thanks

My VR seems to be the issue here.

Did more test

The cable is there but tend to fade away when viewed from certain angle like top and and side views and zoomed out in VR.

I tried other carrier landing mission in 2d and vr and saw the cable animation correctly.

I think it has got something to do with my graphical settings.

Perhaps wrong call initially but I would test some more.

If it crops up again, I attached a trackfile this time.

Thanks all.

I made a post about this a long time ago and it was not addressed.

https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=231073

It has something to do with the way VR is rendered. At first it only showed up in one eye. Then a few updates later, the cable does not show up at all.

Hi

are you using any mods?

Can someone do a short video showing the issue, it would be helpful, if possible attach the track from the recording also.

I am, but it happens without mods too. I will make a video and post it along with the track file.

The arrestor cable is dodgy especially when zoomed out in external view.

This is in VR

Here is a track file of the trap cable not visible from external view after landing.

Thanks

I see the cable fine from my end, hooked and unhooked.

Maybe the video of it happening will help more in this case.

A little video clip to show the arrestor cable graphic glitches.

You do not see the cable rolling across the deck back to the arrestor peg.

This issue is only peculiar to VR play. If you play the same track file in 2d screen, the trapped cable would appear okay.

It sure has something to do with VR graphics. I uninstalled all mods and did a DCS repair.

The worst scenario I have seen is cables not moving with the aircraft hook. The four cables remains on the deck but the aircraft is trapped.

I have been doing carrier landing all evening and it looks like the arrestor cable external view graphic glitches is gone.

Multiple trappings and checking in all landing, black cable is clearly visible on hook and rolling across the carrier deck.

Cheers

Strikeeagle that is weird. Perhaps I should do some more and check. It's been pretty good on my end from all the angles I looked.

Did two landings today the Stennis in F/A-18C and no issues with the cable visibility. Not sure if that airframe is excluded from the issue you have been having or if it was in the same boat at one point (no pun intended) - but was all good on my end. Running current version of OB with no mods installed and using CV1.

Cheers,
