Why don't you skip the AV-8B NA and directly make the AV-8B plus without the ground modes of the radar and bring them later on when ED has finished the development of it?

So we would have an AV-8B plus with only A/A radar at first.

It's to keep us Brits sweet... AV8B NA = almost GR.7/9 ;)

That would be like kicking a hornet´s nest..bare footed...

The amount of flack we received when we released the 1st iteration of the M-2000C prevents me from doing such a move..ever...

Info

...But they have also stated a few times there might be a AV-8B+ in the future (since it would not take a huge amount of work to convert the AV-8B NA to the AV-8B+ seeing as the AV-8B+ is directly based on the AV-8B NA so the main difference is the radar and its surrounding features.

This is actually not true, the AV-8B II+ variant was the original AV-8B Day Attack variant that was re-manufactured with a longer nose section to accommodate the radar. They also retooled the wing to include the 100% Leading Edge Root Extension (LERX) and also added the upgraded 408B engine along with all of the avionics upgrades. The Night Attack is still in use today and is around 40% more reliable than the II+ radar variant...
