JG2_Yogi
Greetings folks, I have had the Kurfurst for some time but only recently started flying it seriously & I have run into an issue when I cold start the aircraft. On climb out the engine seizes about 45sec into the flight. I assume I am missing something in the start procedure but have read the manual a dozen times & watched several tut vids & I am certain I'm doing everything right yet when I climb out I am doing 1.2 Ata & looking at the gauges everything is normal when I hear a bang & the engine seizes. Anyone have a idea what I am missing? Many thanks for any assistance. Solty
Is prop pitch on auto? Or maybe u climb to slow? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]In 21st century there is only war and ponies. JG2_Yogi
Thank you for the replies. I have prop pitch on auto & I'm climbing out at 275-300kph. If there was a problem with the engine you would think one of the gauges would show a problem but they don't. All gauges show normal temp or pressure. Whisper
Engine gone in a bang is not from overheating but something to do with inside pistons breaking,if I'm not mistaken. That's due to too high RPM. What is the RPM readout during your 1.2 ata climb? Whisper of old OFP & C6 forums, now Kalbuth. VagTech
This was happening to me as well, until I realized I was still on manual prop and was not warming the engine up properly on start up. Make sure you have good temps before taking off, don't use MW50 right off the bat either.
