OnlyforDCS
So if i understand right, open beta means a paralel game version to the stable one? 1.5 will not update over 1.2? Yes thats right. Though 1.5 will update over 1.2, just not right away but only once it leaves beta. Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals. J3ST3R
I don't play 1.2.16 any more. Just waiting for 1.5 to start again. Stable or not, I'm not gonna back to 1.2  So if i understand right, open beta means a paralel game version to the stable one? 1.5 will not update over 1.2? That's correct. At the time, just run your open beta exe and it'll auto update to 1.5. sobek
Correct me anybody if I'm wrong but I think that EDGE is a new Engine and so it will come as seperate Installation. Consider yourself corrected. :) It will most likely be installed through the autoupdater just like any other update. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! The major benefit to your CPU you will see will be the offloading of work to your GPU. No changes in CPU core usage is planned right now. lanmancz
Also, will 1.5/2 make better use of CPU cores? I think the main thing is that it will offload much more of the work to the GPU. They stated several times that they do not pursuit multi core support as they concluded that it will provide little or no benefit, which is surprising but that's the status currently. It could be. If the team is working near Moscow, the current time isn't that late, certainly not for a Russian office. It is about 5:45 pm in Moscow, right now. That is 11: 45 AM RCT, Russian Corporate Time. :megalol: I will check back tonight and see if the new version is loaded up. MJ Edited September 29, 2015 by mjmorrow [sIGPIC]http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv250/mjmorrow76/SPAD%20of%20a%20new%20generation_zpshcbftpce.png[/sIGPIC]
Aginor
@Sierra99, and of course sniped again. Not really. You are still safe using a quad core PC. More than three won't be used. Windows uses one, DCSW uses one, and the audio uses one IIRC. DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
fltsimbuff
A watched source branch never builds... It would probably do our F5 keys a lot of good (this is the 3rd time I've typed this out because I kept hitting the actual F5 key...) if we keep in mind the time it takes to test build, build, check for major errors, and stage updates. We should also not assume that the test will pass 100% (there may yet be issues to correct). Then again, you know what they say... Where there's smoke testing, there are flaming torches. I am keeping cautiously optimistic. Either way it won't be long now... And I am anxious to see those new textures for the existing map...

OnlyforDCS
So now that we have the 1.5 changelog would it be possible for one of the closed beta testers to post a few screenshots from his their menus and other game options to see what the new UI looks like? We have have already been treated with a few glimpses during Wag's streams/video previews but I think it would just be cool to checkout and get familiar with while we wait for 1.5 to go live.
