Building universal UFC for DCS modules

So I'm in the process of updating my set up. I currently use my keyboard as UFC, but want to build an ortho mini 5x7 keyboard with custom LED lit cherry mx switches to match the f18/av8b and upcoming f16 UFCs. I've seen similar keyboards on this website but have no experience building these and don't know where to start. http://www.40percent.club/2016/11/gherkin.html All the ones I can see are horizontally mounted and I want a vertical one, can I solder on the switches rotated by 90?

That sounds like a very good idea, I didn't know of IKARUS. so im guessing you can completely customise the look and size etc of all the buttons? and have different profiles for each aircraft?

Thanks for your suggestion, ill definitely look into it, the first problem I see is that I am already running 3 screens off my 1080ti, not sure if I can run anymore...

1080Ti should have 4 ports. My initial setup was 2x 1080Ti for 8 ports total. You should be fine. Likely you have 2 DisplayPorts and 2 HDMI connections. Judging by the setup in your photo you're using 2 HDMI and 1 DP. You can buy touch screen monitors (linked in my blog to Ebay) and a HDMI to DP connector on Amazon.

But yes... I created the button states using a photoshop-like application and used IKARUS as the interface. Think of the photoshop stuff as a button on/off and then IKARUS doing the function.

If anyone is interested I'm selling my touchscreens. I have a Dell 21.5" and an Acer 27". If interested I'll post actual model numbers. Both are in excellent shape with no dead pixels and would come with an articulating desk mounted arm.
