[ALL MODULES][SP/CO-OP] Liberation Dynamic Campaign

Recommended Posts

Apologies...after I complete my first mission, I exit via the quit button, then alt and tab over to the Liberation page but I don't get the box that allows me to accept the mission or manually accept it. No box at all. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

you're either not hitting the "begin flight" button in Liberation (you should get the accept/abort popup), or the popup is hidden underneath the main Liberation window.  Alt-Tab to the popup, not the Liberation main window.

where  can you download  extra  mission   for  liberation  other  than  the  ones  you  get  when  you download it

AFAIK you can't download extra campaigns (or at least I don't know where you can find them)

But you can create your own ones: https://github.com/dcs-liberation/dcs_liberation/wiki/Custom-Campaigns

Nice to know!

However, looks like just one of them seems to be compatble with DCS Liberation 6.1.1...

Probably  late  to the party  on this  one  on using  vr.  Found  out  when using  vr  there  was  no way  i  could  use  vr  in  the  liberation  maps  kept getting  stutters  and the  black side panels  when looking  left or  right,  so had  to  resort  to  track ir.   But  i found  the  cure  by  watching these  4  utubes 1  thru  4 .   Now  wow  tried  the  full map  on  the  syria  campaign with  vr  and  guess what no  stutters  no  black  panels  and  now i use  this  in  all  my  other  dcs  missions

@pete_auau You are so right!!!  I was hesitating to go through the hassle of setting up a dedicated server... I had never done this in DCS... and those Mr Chimiste's videos encouraged me to do that exactly... I started by making a dedicated server on the same machine and played Liberation missions from it and already I say quite a difference in performance... But the real test I finally did yesterday:

I did setup a dedicated server for DCS (open Beta) on my laptop (i7 8750U - 16 G RAM).

I made a crazy mission for benchmarking : a Liberation mission with SYRIA FULL, started both factions with MAX BUDGET, did not tick any of the options that should help performance (I did keep the infantry, the carcasses, the smoke, the artillery, etc.), NO CULLING, and it happened to be an OVERCAST CLOUD COVER... the mission editor counted 1240 UNITS !!!!!!  This would indeed be unplayable in VR (I have a decent system but still, before, I couldn't run a normal SYRIA FULL mission without lots of stutters...).

Well now it did run and I got 35 to 45 FPS in VR, I couldn't believe the difference!!!

Brilliant!  Liberation is really a lot of fun!

I encourage now all who like to play Liberation to setup a dedicated server (at the very least on the same machine, it already helps some)

(my gaming/client machine is a i9 9900K with 32G RAM and an RTX3090, with a REVERB G2 a pretty good system but not the top)

In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust...

In real life I fly a humble Cessna Hawx XP II with 210 HP :D

My problem is that I design a strike mission with the f-16 and when I focus the tpod with the strike point, it does not coincide, it is not aligned and if I manage to align it when firing the JSWOs never fall on the designated point. This does not happen to me neither with the f-18 nor with the Harrier. Thank you

Hi everyone.

I loaded Liberations back up on my Server recently after been away for a while., I'm running multiple instances on Windows Server 2016. The server has no video card whatsoever and only allows 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution. When opening Liberation on the server I can not get it to fit the screen and only able to see part of the interface at one time. Does anyone know of a way to se able to set it so it can fit in that resolutions.

Other then that Liberations works like a charm running it on a dedicated OB server.

Cheers

Wood

I have an ongoing Liberation campaign with only carrier group and LHA-1, and an Air Assault mission to get a foothold on land.

I have played the mission a couple of times and always get shot down before the air assault helos are even close to the land (the helos seem very slow, I think maybe they are not honoring the ToT...?). I have decided to have my death as an acceptable outcome and would like to continue the campaign regardless of the results. But do I have to keep DCS and the mission running until all flights have completed before quitting and Accepting the Results? Or is there some "resolve the mission from here on" functionality? Or does the next mission start from where the previous was left, with helos still on their way to their air assault?

How should I advance the campaign to the next round so that it honors the still unresolved but eventual AI units' successes/failures on their missions?

Anyone knows if there is a good tutorial on how to create campaings for liberation?

Is this a way to say "no, there are no tutorials, just the official wiki you find too cryptic"?

I actually ask one thing. Is there a tutorial you know of that explains well how to start Liberation from Server?

Unfortunately no mate: being a lone-wolf I use to play liberation in single player mode so I never used it on a server.

Which is the best way to provide feedback/suggestion to the developer?

I have a couple of ideas I whould like to suggest about group naming thant might be useful:

  1. Name all groups belonging to the same package using the name (useful to identify other flights), i.e.:
    1. Enfield 1-x (Strike)
    2. Enfield 2-x (SEAD)
    3. Enfield 3-x (Escort)
  2. Add package info into the kneeboard: at least list the name of the other gorups belonging the the package and their role.
  3. Allow used to set the group name when creating

Hi guys, I play liberation daily now but the main problem is the frame rate drops significantly with my VR. Evidently there are a lot of resources at play. How can I make sure dcs doesn't eat up all my RAM? Thanks

Since  the  release of  the f 15e trying  to set up a  flight  using the  f15e  but  every  time  i  enter  the  mission it   says  i need   the  mod f15c?

You have to select the F-15E Strike Eagle (Suite 4+).
