Gripen 4-1
Teams are working on the viper and hornet and we will have feature news soon, however we did not want to introduce new features until 2.5.6 is more stable. thanks BIGNEWY don't get me wrong, but at the moment 2.5.6 is a complete catastrophe in VR. The latest release did not regain any FPS and is also very instable and crashes very often SYS: MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge Wifi || Ryzen 5900x || Gainward RTX4090 || 2x16 Gb Crucial Ballistix RGB 3200@3800 || XPG Core Reactor 850 Watt PSU || Kingston Fury 2 TB NVME SSD || WD SN850 1TB NVME || 1 x 500 GB Crucial MX300 SATA SSD || 2 x HDD 3TB || Thrustmaster F-16 & F-18 Stick on Virpil War BRD Bases || WinWing Orion2 F-16EX Viper Throttle Combo || WinWing Orion2 F/A-18 Hornet Throttle Combo (With Finger Lift) || WinWing Takeoff Panel II MFG Crosswind Pedals w. shagrat
I guess this demonstrates the value of the OB now. Not sure how t was not detected during closed testing. ED will get it resolved. If Virus Scanners quarantine files from DCS as their heuristics have yet another false positive, there isn't anything ED can do about it. People need to clarify with the AntiVirus vendor, or exclude DCS from the heuristic scan... ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 4, 2020 ED Team Share Posted March 4, 2020 Hi all primary focus of this update is on 2.5.6 performance and stability, particularly on network play. We have some more work to do and we will see further improvements in coming patches. Thank you. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Hippo
primary focus of this update is on 2.5.6 performance (...) From my limited testing, performance remains suboptimal. DarkClown
I haven't fired up the new update yet but are we getting any FPS back comparable to 2.5.5 for VR? I haven't been playing much since I can no longer maintain a minimum of 45fps. Airhunter
Why can't we just revert to 2.5.5 and go from there and let 2.5.6 cook some more in the background? I feel like all the modules and DCS MP itself will be held back for months because of the whole 2.5.6 disaster. Considering all 3rd parties pay 50% of their income to ED it's a pretty harsh slap in the face, as well as for the community. The current performance and lighting (it looks way worse and more fake than before) is just not acceptable for such a long period of time in my opinion. Yes the stable version is there, open beta is a public test version and there will be ups and downs during development, we use the user reports and feedback to help us and we are grateful for that. If the testing build is not suitable for you and would prefer less disruption then stable version is the better option. thanks Edited March 4, 2020 by BIGNEWY Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
