@Bignewy,

Is the MP server player ID issue fixed?

It seems like from the changelog some stuff around that got fixed but its not clear?

Teams are working on the viper and hornet and we will have feature news soon, however we did not want to introduce new features until 2.5.6 is more stable.

thanks

BIGNEWY don't get me wrong, but at the moment 2.5.6 is a complete catastrophe in VR. The latest release did not regain any FPS and is also very instable and crashes very often

No this needs more time, it is a complex fix.

I guess this demonstrates the value of the OB now. Not sure how t was not detected during closed testing. ED will get it resolved.
If Virus Scanners quarantine files from DCS as their heuristics have yet another false positive, there isn't anything ED can do about it.

People need to clarify with the AntiVirus vendor, or exclude DCS from the heuristic scan...

Hi all

primary focus of this update is on 2.5.6 performance and stability, particularly on network play.

We have some more work to do and we will see further improvements in coming patches.

Thank you.

primary focus of this update is on 2.5.6 performance (...)

From my limited testing, performance remains suboptimal. Unchanged from the previous OB.

I haven't fired up the new update yet but are we getting any FPS back comparable to 2.5.5 for VR? I haven't been playing much since I can no longer maintain a minimum of 45fps.

You omitted his entire statement:

Why can't we just revert to 2.5.5 and go from there and let 2.5.6 cook some more in the background? I feel like all the modules and DCS MP itself will be held back for months because of the whole 2.5.6 disaster. Considering all 3rd parties pay 50% of their income to ED it's a pretty harsh slap in the face, as well as for the community.

The current performance and lighting (it looks way worse and more fake than before) is just not acceptable for such a long period of time in my opinion.

No, I didn't. I just omitted a part of it. My observation was only wrt performance, hence my selective quote.

cannot download newest update due to this reoccuring error: 00634.038 ERROR: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\_downloads\bin/World.dll: (5) Access is denied.

removed openbeta program and downloaded fresh with the same result, it seems a file is missing, anyone else?

Yes the stable version is there, open beta is a public test version and there will be ups and downs during development, we use the user reports and feedback to help us and we are grateful for that.

If the testing build is not suitable for you and would prefer less disruption then stable version is the better option.

thanks

The changelog still reflects the latest stable version as 2.5.5 from December last year. Do you know when the stable 2.5.6 will be released, with supercarrier access I assume?

It will depend on 2.5.6 and the current testing and fixes. When we are happy it is ready for stable will will let everyone know.

thanks
