BitMaster
http://www.tomshardware.de/geforce-gtx-1070ti-gp104-nvidia,news-258593.html it's a german article, but if it turns out to be true it will likely apply to all future releases whenever Nvidia thinks so. AMD really needs to the next GPU with a Flash Gordon like appearance to do the same to Nvidia as they do to Intel :D Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Asus 1080ti EK-waterblock - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus PG278Q 27" QHD Gsync 144Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X

Hadwell
Also consider that nvidia cards basically overclock themselves out of the box, and even with a 1080ti you can't get much more performance out of it, not even volt modding or bios editing changes its performance all that much... I would suspect that the 1070ti will be no different, in that it overclocks itself, so even though it seems like you can't overclock it, it's actually automatically doing it... BitMaster
It's more like AMD pushes Intel to do things they rather would have liked to postpone, like that paper launch of the 8th gen. Apple and Intel's day of ruling the market are counted imho, time will tell. Dudikoff
It's more like AMD pushes Intel to do things they rather would have liked to postpone, like that paper launch of the 8th gen. Apple and Intel's day of ruling the market are counted imho, time will tell. IMHO, hardly as AMD doesn't have the R&D budget to be really competitive with Intel and Nvidia, let alone both. At most they manage to push them a bit out of their comfort zone and force them to release their next-gen product sooner than planned which most consumers go for then. It really is nice when they do manage to release a competitive product (like e.g. Ryzen which they failed to do ever since Phenom release), especially against Intel given how Intel has been selling more or less the same iCore CPU through 7 generations with minimal performance improvements, where each "new" generation required a new chipset :) Edited October 19, 2017 by Dudikoff i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg. Currently it's NVIDIA that is pushing AMD. Yeah, but as said, when you compare their profit margins, it's quite unrealistic to expect anything else. It's more likely that they will quit the GPU business (or at least the high end segment) rather than manage to outpace Nvidia. Konovalov
The reason Nvidia has throw the 1070Ti out there is simply to undercut the AMD Radeon RX Vega 56.
