HOTAS single throttle and multiple engines

Recommended Posts

I'm planning on getting a Thrustmaster T.1600M FCS HOTAS throttle and joystick set. When flying a twin engine aircraft how do you guys go about managing each engine separately, e.g. if you need to shut one down in flight, if you only have a single throttle?

Regards, Django.

Most DCS twin engine planes give you keybinds to shut down each engine separately, and it isnt very frequently that you would need to actually throttle each engine separately while in normal flight or combat.

Nothing to it. Tons of DCS players (myself included) use a single throttle axis, which controls all engines equally.

Differential throttling is done with, I believe, R_Alt and +/- keys, and the single throttle axis will control the two engines together while maintaining the RPM difference you set with the keys.
