A10C "Default" camera position

Hi everyone!

im learning the a10c and enjoying it aswell! But theres something that got me mad,

Its the heads down default camera.

Does anyone knows if this position of "not centered to the HUD" its on purpose because the real aircraft its like this, or i should be changing (if i can) the default position?

The thing comes when i have a target on my hud, and im about to go with guns, and i want to zoom a bit but without moving out from the trackir "deadzone" so im not moving around while trying to focus on the target. But when i zoom in, my camera goes to the HUD KEYBOARD or lower, like i have to move my head up to look at the HUD center.

Sorry, my bad english makes me write a lot to make me understand!

Ty in advance for any suggestion.

Adjust your seat position. Recenter TIR then switch it to "Pause" (LEDs from green to orange), press RCtrl + RShft + NP arrows for lateral position, same combo with NP / or * for longitudinal position. Then save with RAlt + NP 0. Reactivate TIR. Be happy.

Probably cheating but I have mapped my zoom to Track IR Z axis.

Check this file

...\DCS World\Config\View\SnapViewsDefault.lua

Find A-10C and this part specifically

[13] = {--default view

viewAngle = 75.000000,--FOV

hAngle = 0.000000,

vAngle = -23.000000,

x_trans = 0.360000,

y_trans = -0.041337,

z_trans = 0.000000,

rollAngle = 0.000000,

},

Above is default.

This are my settings (needs a bit more tweaking, but much better). You can test settings and simply restart mission (no need to restart DCS) to see effects of your changes directly in files.

[13] = {--default view

viewAngle = 80.000000,--FOV

hAngle = 0.000000,

vAngle = -20.000000,

x_trans = 0.360000,

y_trans = -0.010000,

z_trans = 0.000000,

rollAngle = 0.000000,

},

In any case, once this is set, you don't need to play every time you start-up A-10C

Of top of my head... I remember that

y_trans = makes pilot "taller"

z_trans = use to shift position left or right (-50 makes you sit on right side instrument panel)

you'll figure out the rest ;)

I uploaded file for you in previous post.

Your lua file seems to work perfectly for me. I assume it works in both 1.5 and 2.0?

Trackir4 using the latest Trackir 5 software, Win10 Pro [Creator Update] updated from Win7Pro Pro 64Bit, Intel® Core™ i5-2500 3.30 GHz 6M Intel Smart Cache LGA115 , GigaByte GA-Z68XP-UD4 Intel Z68 Chipset DDR3 16GB Ram, GTX MSI Gaming 1060 [6 GB] Video Card, Main Monitor 1 on left 1920x1080 Touchscreen Monitor 2 on right 1920x1080 .

When you disable clickable mouse cockpit you should be able to look around (which is another way to adjust view) and aim your view to your preference.

The above is 1 of many ways to adjust the pilots view point. Also, just go into the controls and set-up the "cockpit view" controls to your liking. You can easily move left/right/back/forward/down/up all with a simple key press. This is of course especially useful for VR pilots as well
