Default Storm of War coming to DCS World?

Could this be the time that we get more than an air quake WW2 server?
Is Storm of War coming to DCS World?
I'm certainly hoping so.

There is no other way to use the B-17, and Ju-88, when it arrives, for the time being. That is where most of the AI come in, but there are a few fighters in there too, as numbers increase there are likely to be fewer AI. As a mission test, of the principles and concept, it's worked well.

I think it's great. DCS needs more WW2 servers. Most importantly we need people to fly in them.

This. Give me a consistently populated server for WW2. I don't care if it's airquake or whatever. We would be lucky to have airquake. Then there might actually be someone to fight.

What server are you on? I always find the WW2 servers (ACG and Burning Skies) completely empty.

Storm of War is not regularly up and running atm Boris so I expect it's another server being referred to.

However, Storm of War (SoW) doing a test server mission is news we've been waiting to hear .. right?

ED have announced focus on WW2 in their recent news updates also (and a little more than just a side comment also) which is hugely encouraging for WW2 drivers across the board!

Expecting a replication of the old SoW is not on the cards in the short/medium term of course ....(those of us who flew the old SoW know what I mean) but during the course of the coming months and quarters, ED's focus and development of their WW2 offering will hopefully result in good steps in that direction.

It's a what-if type of comment I know, but if these two were able to complement each others ... can you imagine what awesomeness would follow!

S!

Can you please summarise what SOW brings to the party?

Default Storm of War coming to DCS World?

I invite the change! Personally I’m tired of flying the exact same mission against the same handful of guys that I’ve flown for the last six months. The option to ground pound, escort, CAP, fly from France or Britain and having enemy aircraft at all altitudes is a welcomed change. I don’t mind having AI, it adds to the immersion of the experience. You also never know if it’s a player or the AI your engaged with. I flew the test mission, don’t be fooled, those AI are a beast and a will rip you up. I think it offers something for all skill levels and hopefully cuts down on the intimidation of trying multiplayer. I understand many guys don’t want to even try MP cause they are instantly getting shot down from guys with years of MP experience. That’s not fun, that’s just frustrating for them and they never try it again. I don’t know if the plan is a 24hr server or if it’s to run it on certain dates and times but it’s a nice change.
