xoxen
I use this program for a while now and love it. Many thanks for this. Actually I have an issue trying to create a Kneeboard for the F-16C. The kneeboard folder inside of the "saved games" folder gets the correct sheets added. But the position is not the one I choose. I have a multi screen setup and the standard kneeboard position is on the small display of one of my MFDs. So I positioned it to my right large screen and it works for the Hornet and the Hog. But for the Viper it fails. Any idea? Thanks, Xoxen Edit: Got it to run, forgot to create a profile for the F-16C, my fault. Everything now works like it should. viper2097
Ok, I managed somehow to get it working. Great app, big benefit, thank you! But i run into one problem: INSERTING KNEEBOARD INTO EXISTING MISSIONS: With version 1.4.0.0 you can now insert kneeboard images into existing missions. The kneeboard will be global and visible to all aircraft. I haven't been able to figure out how to do selective kneeboards for each aircraft (if even possible). Backup your missions before inserting a kneeboard just in case something goes wrong. (I have not had any issues yet with .miz files becoming corrupted, but you never know...) 1) From the 'Create Custom Kneeboard' tab, select the kneeboard groups you would like to add your mission(s). 2) Click on the '.miz' button on the lower right side of the window. 3) Select a single mission or multiple missions in the file browser dialog and click 'Open'. 4) Your selected kneeboard groups will be automatically inserted into each selected mission, overwriting any existing kneeboard already in the mission. Tip: If you want to clear a kneeboard from a mission or missions, perform steps 2-3 without selecting any kneeboard groups to add. It does not work for me to remove it from a mission. If I am not moving a group to the right side in step 1, I can't click on the .miz button in step two, as it is greyed out. Any advice? majapahit
FYI need Always had problems installing Kneeboard Builder having custom directories for both DCS and the Saved Games had 4 blank pages that were the auto-mission briefings supposedly did some thinking copied from the KneeboardBuilder program install directory e.g. ".. <files>\KneeboardBuilder" the directory " .. <files>\KneeboardBuilder\Kneeboard Groups\General DCS World Kneeboard\Dynamic Mission Briefing\LuaPreviewImages" has the 4 lua files for generating the mission data pages and copy/add this to "xx:\Saved Games\DCS xxxx\Kneeboard\ thus creating "xx:\Saved Games\DCS xxxx\Kneeboard\LuaPreviewImages et voila 4 mission data pages show again | VR goggles | Autopilot panel | Headtracker | TM HOTAS | G920 HOTAS | MS FFB 2 | Throttle Quadrants | 8600K | GTX 1080 | 64GB RAM| Win 10 x64 | Voicerecognition | 50" UHD TV monitor | 40" 1080p TV monitor | 2x 24" 1080p side monitors | 24" 1080p touchscreen |
KobBoyz
Hello, I just installed this wonderful software is kneeboard and I take this opportunity to thank his developer for us to make it available free of charge. However, I have a problem because I can not create a profile. Indeed, in Options, I have kneeboard Profiles and then modify which is grayed out and Restore default. I do not have Kneeboard Settings but only Kneeboard Profiles. Is this normal? So how to change the size of the kneeboard? Thanking you.

Captain Orso
The point to argue is, does DCS update remove added files in the kneeboard folder, or only updates existing files with changed ones and adds new files to their default kneeboard if ever, is that the case or not, isn't it. There is absolutely no point in researching or arguing about it; any file, outside of the Bazar\Liveries\ but inside the Eagle Dynamics\ directory structures, is subject to change by ED during any update without warning. Because of this, it is highly advisable to use a GME (Generic Mod Enabler) such as the here noted OvGME. Using a GME means before every update re-modding every mod you have implemented, which with OvGME requires opening a menu and issuing a single click. After updates you build a new snapshot file and reimplement your mods (you have setup profiles for which mods are active for switching between configurations, which works again as simple as opening a menu and clicking). So there is no excuse for not using a GME, unless you only use like one mode, then just copy it in after every update and don't worry about the rest. Captain Orso
Sometimes it is better to use the solution on hand than spend effort to find a new solution. The question is, how much time will I save with a new solution and how much time will it cost to invent this new solution. So it depends on the situation. In this situation my assessment is that the solution on hand is the better investment. It's safe and has been used over years without problems. However, if there IS the promise of an overall improvement with a new solution, I'm all for looking into it. That's how I switched from JSGME to OvGME. I just don't see it here.
