Damn! Some of this guys are realy put me to shame, but here's my little contribution. My first attempt of 9.19. (with horrible textures). I'll redo this from the start. Could anyone comment is this looking at least a little bit decent?

Nice low-poly model. You want to use it in FC? Are you at the end of the poly-count, if not you could add some more detail.

..you reminded me that to my shame, I still can't texture in max..

The model have close to 10k triangles, but it's mostly textures that are amateurish. And, I don't plan to use it in FC. Acctualy, I learned a little bit of C#, and I've started to write my own physic and flight controler as a proof of concept. If I'm succesfull, maybe a new flight sim? Who knows?

General research. Hours of digging through websites and directories. And for this particular model, largely through books. (Most major military aircraft have excellent quality diagrams out there somewhere, but very few very good ones are available for free.) Good luck.

Will find out on how todo the collision model thingy - any help would be nice

how to put it in game - me don't do code, me make and paint things

Hey guys,

This is crazy! Great work Brun.

Ive acquired 3DS max this past week and find the tutorials a little weak. I can understand where my tools are but let be clear. I want to make aircraft.

I find my 3 view and I know how to apply them to my viewports. I can create my box and match them to the diameters of the real aircraft and that's as far as I can get.

My box as it overlaps the aircraft in viewports is never the size of the 3 view. And I can not figure out how to centre the device ( I don't know what its called) it has three arrows in a triangle type formation of different colours yellow blue and red I think or green.

If there is anyone who wouldn't mind assisting me that would be great!

Cheers and keep up this great work. After what I learned this past week you are all true artists!

Best.

Hawg i would really recommend you do something much less complicated first, aircraft are probably the most complex non-organic things you could model, they require advance knowledge of how the modeling tools work, and how to combine them.

there are plenty of good ones on the 3dsmax website

Check the vacant 3D model list.

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=104115

And other vacant 3D model discarted by ED by high cost (you can make them)

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=100423

a big list of legacy models need update (and a big list no show on that post) I need update my wish "update 3D model" list (on progress).

Model limit has 150000 poligon max to big models or ships. A normal model has 50-70000 poligon max, all have only 4-5 2048x2048 textures max.

the RGB Arrows, is called the GIZMO.

to center it, you have to click the Hierarchy Tab on the Right, and choose "Affect Pivot Point Only" then "Center to Object" and it will center it. or you can move it freely,

if you really want to do a really complicated thing from the start, just start it, and whatever you don't know try to find a similar tutorial, there are some airplane tutorials out there, though they are not so good just by looking at the finished product, so you can start doing that.
