JUICE-AWG
I flew the Spitfire after 2.5.6. update came out today and there seems to be a wind noise bug that wasn't there before. With the canopy closed, I can lean left and right while facing forward and there is no extra wind buffeted sound like normal, but if I turn and face rearward to look over my shoulders, the noise is there just like if the canopy is open. I tested this both with canopy open and closed and the problem is that the rear facing noise sounds like the canopy open noise but when actually it is closed. I further tested this against the Mustang and the sounds in the P-51D are correct in regard to canopy open or closed. Cheers, "There are only two types of aircraft, Fighters and Targets." C-TE-B
Seconding this, it is extremely noticeable when I turn around with TrackIR and one of my 'ears' passes through the canopy glass. On a lighter note what seems to be a new air rushing sound when the canopy is open is very nice! Edited February 15, 2020 by C-TE-B
petsild
Such a slap in the face to the ears, pretty disturbing sound. Anatoli-Kagari9
Yep, confirmed here too... Beware not to smash your head against the canopy as you look sideways and back - it is probably a lot more sensible now with the "new damage model" they're working on and we break it and that's why :-) Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream... ED Team btd Posted February 16, 2020 ED Team Share Posted February 16, 2020 (edited) Yes, it's a bug. Ears pass through the canopy. Should be reported as a bug. Thanks for your report.
