Wow, Edge never looked better in those last two new pictures. Throws money at screen......why won't you accept my monies Belsimtek.....for the LOVE of GOD. ;)

Lighting definitely looks amazing, but clouds - meh, not good, they look like they still use old texture with "holes".

We could say the EDGE and the Sabre are a WIP.... but would that help?

 

With all due respect, if people refrained from commenting on aspects of DCS that were still a WIP then there would be very little to discuss.

Landing light illumination is still WIP in EDGE. A lot of things are being re-done / upgraded for the new renderer.

Think the landing lights need bigger bulbs;)

 

why ?

those looks good

sure, screenshot maker got the moment when those headlights were only half way opened

that's why they illuminate the ground

few seconds later those will be fully opened and light horizontally

i am coonfused: are those headlights fixed in the fuselage or able to turn/rotate out just like the ka-50 spotlights ? :dunno:

sure, they wanted to write: 1.2.8 :D

 

and yes, the reflection is already available in the sim - since wathog beta came out

later the current engine got newer and continuously improved materials such as glass, mirror and chrome materials - all are reflecting materials

what is new: the reflected image what we can see on the fuselage (with the current engine we can see only clouds on the reflecting surface)

by an easy way: that's an image what the graphic engine put on the fuselage

but by a diffucult way: the reflection is calculated ! ! ! and we will see all the surrounding objects on the reflection of the fuselage - just like in a mirror - but this is computationally intensive very much unfortunately

 

hope theres a option to slap it off if its to taxing on frame rates.

as i see there is always the same reflection image on the fuselage, does not matter the ac is on the concrete or in the grass or in the air, so i think fps will the same as seeing the mirroring fuselage of a mustang by the current 1.2.8 engine

With all due respect, I never said it wasnt ok to comment, just sometimes peoples comments are lacking in all due respect... Just IMHO of course...

 

Yes, please say that is an old pic. The landing lights are not good at all.

Sorry it was tongue in cheek, I like it but if you see lots of landing lights in DCS that are like searchlights. I love the look of the runway lights fading into the distance, seems a lot more "realistic" than at present:)

F-100s are similar, except they are further back.,

as for the lack of details.

 

Some things like shadows and stuff turn off in cloud cover/dusk in the current engine.. so..

The pitot tube is supposed to be larger and bent like on the early slatted-wing sabres. The straight tube didn't appear until the slatted wings came back with the wingspan extension.

 

Here is what the tubes looked like (our aircraft is the middle one):

I swore I've seen pix of non Slatted wings with the Straight tube.

 

Perhaps you saw an F-86H. Some of them have hard-wings with the fence but also the 12" wingspan extension and the straight pitot on the other wing. Either way, none of those wings were on the F. Our's should have the bent tube.
