Night Flight - Landing Lights

I'm starting to get a hand on the SPITFIRE, and in normandy i feel like a pilot in 1944. i start to love the immersion... perfect.

i am also reading a historical book "FIRST LIGHT" from Geoffrey Wellum a real WW2 pilot and one of the test in Fligth Training School in Kidlinton is o have a night flight in an Harvard... take of and climb straith 600ft in 180º to 1500ft, Morse ID letter and landing the runway,... when you MORSE your plane tag number and have a a ATC feedback green flare. (as i read in the RUNWAY... was a line of "flares".

i try it to have the same test ... dark night only to rely only in the instrument panels... it's not easy but challenging ... the only light is from the cities an villages.. but no runways.

Question:

... it is possible to have the flare runways (or any type of lights) at this moment in normandy?

There's no asset.

There's 2 steps:

You set up a zone.

You set up a trigger and action that causes a flare in the zone.

I've attached a simple test mission for 1.5 (Caucasus/Black Sea map) where the first trigger is to create smoke + illumination flare at the airport 5 seconds after mission start.

Dumb question, in the ME you can have flares fired, and pick their color, but aren't these actually signal flares, as opposed to illumination flares, which are a completely different creature?

Besides, the flares the OP was referencing as 'a line of "flares"', I believe were flares like you used to have in cars for emergencies, to warn of an accident; a stick of a phosphorous material that would burn for a number of minutes, which you lay on the ground or put in a holder.

When you hit the wrong button on take-off

hey Buzzles thanks a lot, for your "mission", it works great. but "Captain Orso" got a point, at the moment in DCS 1.5.7 , flares don't have the illumination and light effects in the terrain floor... maybe in DCS 2.5 :)
