Average Age of DCS Players?

I'm 38. First real-world flight sim was probably MSFS, but the first I played obsessively was the original Elite, I think I played both of those in the 80s. I remember seeing the box for Blue Thunder at my cousin's house, but I don't remember when that was and if I ever got to play it.

Started with SubLOGIC Flight Simulator on the Commodore 64 in the 80's as a kid and have been flight simming since. I have tried various flight sims through the years but earned the majority of my virtual flight time in all editions of MSFS/CFS, Falcon 3.0/4.0 and now DCS. I started flying DCS with the A-10C in 2014.

45 years old. My first flight sim was my arms spread while making prop noises with my lips at 44.

Don't laugh, it was serious business back then.

33. Started with Top Gun for Dendy (Russian knock-off Nintendo..Google it) when I was around 10; it was the only game cartridge I owned other than the Mario/Duckhunt/Olypics cartridge that came with the system. Played that game till the cartridge died and blowing on it no longer did the trick, easily over 1000 hours.

That was it until 1997 when I came to the States. My old man bought F/A 18 Hornet 3.0 and Janes ATF; the rest is history.

Makes sense. You said you were 45 as the 73rd comment on this thread. ;)

Acording to my wife, Flankerman and Il are the same age !

Takeing a look at my first "Combat sim" was back in 1983 on a ZX, Im sure she is right :) Fighter Pilot Ive think was the name of it, or was that when it came to the C64?

Well got the ZX when Ill was 13, so still not bingo fuel for me.

Michael.

PS did we not have a Microsoft flightsim back in 81? Ive recall to have been flying that as my very first sim on my XT.
