Gauge lights

Hello, can you specify conditions ? Did you just download patch ? Do you use any mods ? Was it with additional lights on or off ? Also, please be so kind to provide all logs.

I've tried to replicate it, so I just downloaded open beta and on my side everything works correct as you can see in attachments.

Edit, confirmed, whenever sun is not casting any light on gauges, they turn black.

I've already informed Rudel, he is on it.

I have this also, it seems related to the relative position of the cockpit with the sun and the shadows.

Yes, Rudel is checking gauges dds and rough met right now. If I'll know more I will post it.

Guys, Rudel and I tried it and seems we might have solved our issues. Just for the sake of being sure, can you also try the file in the attachment ?

Unpack it and put it in following directory:

DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\MIG-21bis\Textures\MiG-21_Cockpit

You should have this file there already, so just replace it with downloaded attachement. Also, in the same directory please delete file named: MiG21Bis_CP_Gauges_RoughMet.bmp

Report back results please.

MiG21Bis_CP_Gauges_RoughMet.rar

Yes, too much playing with files. There should be Gauges and Gauges_RoughMet. Rudel changed bmp to dds, so unpack what I've uploaded and delete bmp one.

I dont get good results with the downloaded file...I have put in the required folder and deleted the bmp file. In the sim it still does not show up quite right...I have default cockpit option in specials tab selected and all mods disabled. Could someone post a screenshot how it looks with the file?

Look for MiG21Bis_CP_Gauges.bmp and delete that one too.

There should be a MiG21Bis_CP_Gauges.DDS in its place

The first screenshot is how the folder looks after a fresh repair (I deleted the whole folder and ran repair)...you can see that there is already a MiG21Bis_CP_Gauges.dds and MiG21Bis_CP_Gauges_RoughMet.bmp file. The second screenshot is after I have deleted the bmp file and inserted the downloaded dds file. The results are as in the previous post

Nothing is wrong then...

Friday's update will remove the dark shadows over the numbers.

  • 1 month later...

Same here, and is a different issue than the #9 post fix.

That fix is not resolving the missing lights in the front cockpit.

Hiromachi if you are so kind to take a look please.

PD: Open beta lights working good.
