Operation Jumping Jack

Let me introduce you to my mission "Operation Jumping Jack". Feel free to test it and play as you like.

But please respect the many hours I have invested in this mission. It would be really unpleasant if it were to be distributed under a different name.

You are welcome to develop it further or change it as you like, but please let my name be in it.

Operation Jumping Jack is a multirole co-op mission, designed for 4-8 players.

The playing time depends on the number and skill of the pilots. I estimate an average playing time of about 5 hours until the mission is completed with 4 players.

 

 

 

It is not possible to save the score in the classic sense. However, the state at which progress was stopped can be restored through the radio menu by destroying the individual mission targets.

 

The mission is started automatically as soon as a player approaches the first target. This will spawn units that are needed to complete the mission.

 

It is also possible to start the mission manually from the radio menu.

The mission is aimed at relatively experienced pilots who have mastered their aircraft. Teamplay is essential.

 

Ground targets and enemy aircraft must be engaged.

Task list:

 

- Change all waypoints and options for enemy AI aircraft. Sometimes the AI flies out of the designated zones and attacks tankers/AWACS.

- Change from static to dynamic weather. However, some adjustments have to be made for AI aircraft.

- Add additional missions. I'm thinking of fighting rebels and precision hits in a densely populated city as well as rescuing or protecting crashed pilots.

- Adding more static objects

- Include the Lar Airbase in missions to expand the usable area

- Adding MOOSE RAT-Scripts for random military air traffic

- Adding individual kneeboard

- Add missions for helo operations

Putze,

 

 

 

Have a few guys who plan on flying this as a coop soon, screwed around with it tonight as a quick test as we search for a better solution to a buggy Op Bactria that hasn't aged well.

 

 

 

Accidentally "killed" the first mission with F10 thinking we needed to select it as our mission. Oops. 2nd mission is TOUGH. Only one of us has a Hornet and even 4 Harps didn't make it through. Looked as if the fleet was going to bail us out and kill the convoy eventually though.

 

 

 

That said, we see now (happily) that it will require better coordination with CAP/Sweep and attackers to make our way in. If I knew how to script this would be what I've wanted to make for years (unlocking your progress through as you go). Will absolutely leave some feedback if we run into anything, but the vibe was we were excited to go for a more serious attempt (there was some eye rolling at the Kenny Loggins cameo but truthfully all thought it was great).

 

 

So far seems well polished and perfect for a good coop.

I'm glad when you rise to the challenge. There are many ways to defeat the opponents, in one way or another ;-)

 

I'm flying this mission for testing purposes with a friend of mine, but unfortunately there are always mistakes creeping in somewhere. I plan to release a new version in the late afternoon, in which there will be some changes.For example, the home base will be moved from Sharjah to Al Minhad to create a more authentic approach, like from the relocated carrier. A military airport has a slightly different feel than an international airport with civilian aircraft.I plan to make the mission more dynamic if I can find a way. If you get any ideas, let me know :-)

I will also add more secondary destinations bit by bit. In the very long run I also plan to provide a version with resource management.

Hey, Lynux,

 

I am glad that you are playing the mission :-)

 

Unfortunately the server is a bit weak, it will be shut down soon. I plan to rent a more powerful server in the future, but this will take some time.

 

 

Did you find the Viggen mission too easy?
