will 1.5 missions work in 2.5?

Recommended Posts

Hello all, was wondering:

1) If the "my mission" file from 1.5.7 (or whatever the final version of 1.5 is) will work in the new black sea map after the merge?... I don't really expect them to, however, it would be awesome if they did, because I have a lot of really cool missions saved.

2) will missions from the 2.1.1 code tree will work after the merge, it seems to me the chances are a lot better of missions being compatible with the 2.1.x version? :joystick: :pilotfly:

The new map should be compatible with older missions, that's the plan as of now.

2.1 missions should be playable as well as the 2x branch is going to become 2.5 with additional updates.

Sweet, If I don't expect it, and they are, that's an added bonus!

I was just kind of wondering whether or not to continue making missions in 1.5, as there is still a lot of content I haven't flown yet, but 2.1 a big step above 1.5. thanks for the response

Yes, but you're going to want to revisit the mission and probably do a bit of updating. Particularly if you have ground units. As you can see from some of the sneak peak pictures, the hills are now rolling, and the inclusion of additional trees and forests might have ground units inside them when they weren't before.

Yes to both questions. There is the caveat that applies to any map in the game that gets updated though where any change to the map has a potential of breaking a given mission. Its just impossible to say precisely if a mission will be broken. It'll be up to the mission maker or whoever plays it to check it.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
