The interviewer asks Matt: "What is you're favourite part of DCS A-10 Warthog?", but I can't make out his reply?

Me too

-Interactive training missions - much more fun and less time consuming learning curve

-Cockpit and radio commands to other AI flights and ground forces ... Great

-New Mission Editor Trigger features ... Group resume , Group stop ... interesting

-Random Mission Generator ... have to see that in action

Does anyone know if the LITENING pod image is displayed on the MFD or on the throttle. I don't know which one. F-16's were famous for using these in the gulf war

I am not quite sure what you mean by displaying on the throttle? The image is displayed on an MFD, you can see it on the right MFD here: http://www.simhq.com/_commentary/images/all_101c_015.jpg

The litening pod wasnt used in the Gulf War, F-16s were just CCIPing CBUs and Mavs back in those days

o wow sorry that was stupid. I meant to say hud.

So your saying that they flew with their eyes glued to their MFD?

also im not seeing any pics of an MFD with a litening image on it. That page provides me with links to different simhq articles.

That video shows a massive improvement in smoke effects compared to what we have now. Hope that part's representative of what we're getting in DCS! (Remember, that footage is all TBS, not DCS.)

yes but in one of waggs interviews he said the graphics in DCS A-10C will be the same as TBS

Oh OK, the link was meant to go to one of the new A-10 pics. In all the cockpit pics we have seen so far it's presented on the right MFD.

I highly reccomend the book "Vipers in the Storm" if you enjoy military aviation. Its a story of F-16s in the Gulf War. They searched with radar/ binoculars/ their eyes during the day. At night, they would work in pairs- one with pure CBUs and the other with Mavericks. Primarily they would use radar but the guy with the mavs would search/id targets using the mav head.

EDIT: Perhaps you are thinking of LANTIRN, which was quite new when the Gulf War kicked off. Not many pilots were qualified in it, but it was used. Vipers in The Storm talks about this system too as the author was one of the few qualified in it.
