[NOT A BUG] How to use LGBs with accuracy

Maybe it’s different in the Hornet* but in the Warthog, I don’t lase until 12-15 seconds before impact and I make the Ten Second call accordingly (not 10 seconds before I roll in)

If a GBU is chasing the laser right off the rack, I’ve found that the bomb bleeds too much energy and often misses.

(*This is all with human FAC(A) … I realize that the AI JTAC introduces its own set of constraints.)

OK here is a video of the issue

Video is a bit blurry but looks like you've set you EFUZE to DLY1? That's a setting for hard targets like bunkers or similar... I would suggest you to try with the fuze to INST and I'm pretty sure the bomb will inflict damage to the tank.

I think that's your issue right there ;)

Well spotted Alby_416, setting to inst on the fuze should help in this situation.

WildBillKelsoe let us know if it helps

How much wind is there in this mission?

winds are variable @ 8m/s. Shouldn't much affect the bomb because of altitude window permitting bang bang corrections, and its control surfaces guide onto target lased.

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Winds affect JDAM accuracy in the hornet as of now, so maybe there is something there to look at.
