BlazingTrigger
Hello, I'm suffering with stutters every 5 seconds or so in DCS multiplayer running the latest OB, drivers etc. Singleplayer is no issue but any server I try even the usual GAW, I suffer a stutter/FPS drop making the game unplayable. It's been an persistent issue with occassionally getting no issues at all (once in a blue moon) My CPU is an i5-6600k and running around 80% capacity stabley and a GTX 1080 at 65% capacity with 32GB of DDR4. Here's a link to a video of it happening: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m4k29gnw24y0uk1/Digital%20Combat%20Simulator%20%20Black%20Shark%202020.03.28%20-%2022.11.17.02.mp4?dl=
diveplane
i think it might be f18 smoke effects bug causing huge framerate issues. https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
Worrazen
There is no smoke in the video so it can't be that. He has more than stutters, these are so big they could be called temporary freezes. Secondly try looking in Task Manager if anything else is causing spikes on CPU. If you are interested in digging this deeper and be ready for when you need it next time you could get a good performance overlay going using MSI Afterburner and RSST and set it up according to this thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=267809 or similar. I could barely see the FPS in the video, it's very low quality, was that really the quality it was recorded in? Then the bitrate should be increased a bit, it was enough to get the idea tho. Keep in mind recording with software would affect the CPU and may exaggerate the problem or even create sideeffects, you would need to gauge how much does the issue change when you record the clip. Since this is Multiplayer only then you may look into network issues, you could setup to in the MSI-Afterburner/RSST overlays to show you ping and other network information. I do not have much DCS multiplayer experience tho. Modules: A-10C I/II, F/A-18C, Mig-21Bis, M-2000C, AJS-37, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, P-47, FC3, SC, CA, WW2AP, CE2. slikbaz
If you guys did not already, try to roll back Nvidia drivers to early 442.x or the latest 441.x, helps a lot. The 445.x is much worse for DCS performance.
