Lock On and FC3

Hi all,

This is my first post, as I've only just discovered the DCS series (thanks to Ilya's Kickstarter for WWII: Europe).

I wanted to purchase the FC3 title, but I can't seem to figure out how I go about it. I apparently need a copy of Lock On (which, incidentally I purchased years ago, and has long since been misplaced).

I looked on the site:

But they only seem to offer a disc copy. Do I really need a disc copy in this day and age?

If so I noticed a post on the steam forums suggesting that a bloke purchased such a copy, only to find he also needed Flaming Cliffs installed in order for FC3 to recognise the content, as it didn't identify his copy of Lock On.

Is purchasing this product really so difficult?

The requirement for lock-on, is because ubisoft have the rights to the series.

You can also purchase the aircraft individually without installing the original lock on. Now available are the A10A and the SU-25. The Su-27 and F15C are being released soon.

For FC3, you only need the original lock-on installed. NO need of flaming cliff discs etc.
