Default Windows and motherboard upgrade

I am considering a long-overdue upgrade of cpu/motherboard . Z390m and 9600k & cooler now & faster/more memory later . For a number of reasons , i wish to transfer my existing SSD and it's OS installation to the new system . Can i expect my 1803 version of windows to handle the transition smoothly ? Any problems i should look out for ?

Your 10 will allow the move to the new board.

I would uninstall all software that belongs to the "old" board, like Realtek sound apps, Intel LAN Suite, whatever it may have.

You will need to reactivate 10 with other hardware. Make VERY sure you either have a valid key OR have your 10 tied to your MS account ( hotmail etc.. ). You need one of the two to reactivate it.

I would, after the transition, upgrade to 1903.

I just did a similar move: new z390 mobo, 9600k, ram etc. I did not uninstall anything, just installed the new mobo drivers once the upgrade completed. For the Windows - obviously it got de-activated after the upgrade, but retrieving a license from the Microsoft account (https://scottiestech.info/2017/02/26...ng-windows-10/) did not work for me by some reason. It was around a midnight, but I gave it a try - called Microsoft support, and surprisingly they were able to reactivate it within like 5 min .
