Загруженность каналов и уровень сигнала точек можно по-быстрому проверить программой Wifi Analyzer.
Вот, для примера, наша офисная обстановка.

("TestAP" установлен в метре от меня, "CR" в ~30 метрах в другом помещении (перегородки гибсокартон). связь с "СR" неустойчивая, дипазон 2,4GHz).

Вот результаты измерений - пинг с одного компьютера, пингую локальный маршрутизатор CSR 1000v (виртуальная машина под ESXi), везде околонулевая нагрузка. Wifi видит 3 точки на 5 ГГц и 10 на 2.4.
Это провод на 100 мегабит, схема компьютер - телефон - свич - сервер.

Ну да, SOHO оборудование такое обычно не показывает, а на цыцкиных точках это хорошо видно. При обследовании инструментами и пользуются, только дороговато это для дома. Пинг для 100 мегабит и 802.11n при незагаженных сети и эфире таким и должен быть.

Тут статистики не имею, у меня везде встроенные эппловские, на PC не использовал. По идее берите любую PCIE которая умеет 802.11n и ac. Ну и чтобы на 5 ГГц умела работать, но это по-моему в стандарт заложено.
