Need Help on Auto-Release Bombs

Hello Hornet drivers, I'm having trouble hitting anything with mk82 unguided or mk82 laser guided bomb when in auto release in straight and level flight. I have no issues with the mk83 unguided or mk83 laser guided bomb doing the same release.

Below is the test mission I've flown:

- No wind, clear day

- Targets: 3x BTR 80

- Friendly: 1x JTAC on laser code 1688

- Loadout: 4x Mk82 LG, 2x Mk82, 1x external fuel tank, 1x targeting pod

- DCS version open beta 2.5.5.34108. No mods of any kind.

First pass:

- Set mk82 LG to laser code 1688, EFUZ INST

- Contact JTAC and request a lase on the first BTR 80

- Set TGP to LSS 1688, TGP finds the BTR 80

- TDC designate a markpoint for auto release

- Fly at angels 18, pickle bomb as per auto release cue

- Bomb misses by a mile

Second pass:

- Don't touch any of the mark point or the bomb setting

- Dive toward target at 22 degree

- Auto release mk82 LG per the cue

- Bomb hits the BTR 80 bang on

Third pass:

- Manually slew the TGP to the second BTR 80. TDC designate a new target

- Select mk82 unguided bomb, MFUZ nose

- Fly angels 19 straight and level and release the bomb per auto-release cue

- Bomb misses by a mile

Fourth pass:

- Don't change any setting, instead dive towards target at 22 degree

- Release bomb as per auto-release cue

- Bomb misses by several meters, which is expected for an unguided bomb

Fifth pass:

- Tell JTAC I'm off target, they turn off the laser

- Target designate is still on the second BTR 80

- Weapon select mk82 LG

- Dive towards target at 22 deg and release per auto-release cue

- Laser designate with my own TGP also on code 1688

- Bomb kills second BTR 80

Now I then reload the mission but this time with 2x mk83 unguided and 2x mk83 LGB

First pass:

- Again, ask JTAC to lase the target as above

- Fly angels 20, straight and level and release per auto-release cue

- Select mk83 LGB, EFUZ inst

- Bomb kills BTR 80

Second pass:

- Manually slew the TGP to the second BTR 80 and target designate

- Select mk83 unguided, MFUZ nose

- Fly angels 20, straight and level and release per auto-release cue

- Bomb lands very close to the second BTR 80 as expected.

So from my testing, the weight of the bomb is messing up the auto-release. Can anyone spot what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

There is an issue with high alt bombing not working well (bug I think). Did you fire and hold laser in first pass and when? Its better to hold off a bit on firing laser until bomb starts arcing downward. 12 or 13 seconds before impact was what I recall advice was if possible.

First pass was laser by JTAC, so I assume the AI held down the laser trigger. Because the second pass was still the JTAC lasing and that worked. So I think these tests prove it's the bomb release and not the laser.

I've had issues a few times where gbu12s were landing way long like they weren't recognizing target or tracking laser. Thought I had set up everything but realized my problem was assuming tpod was already set for 1688 laser code since its displayed when it starts up. It isn't. You still have to punch in the tpod code for it to work.
