My not be per how real 18 works but I think ( laser ) should be coded to (on ) when trigger is boxed. Make it easy to turn on and off.

No, it's wrong, I am not even sure the FLIR should be displayed on the AMPCD at all.

It is possible to use bottom display for flir.

I'd reason that most pilots dont because of the heads down needed, and it's more convenient to have in left or right ddi, even though in the USN legacy Hornets you have to contend with the limitations of those older ddi,s unlike the lot 25+ super hornets or usmc fa18a++ etc, which have full colour capable LCD based ddi's like the ampcd allowing for the black and white imaging

Okay, and what about night vision ? Because now its really hard to see target at night via TGP...

Change from ccd ( day mode) to infrared? white hot or black hot.

Yeah, I am unsure, I know the team is looking at it, and I am not sure how different the CF-188 and Sniper pod are from the C and Litening we have. I agree as well, doesn't seem like the best place for it during combat.

Doesn't have anything to do with the pod, but rather whether or not software's programmed to allow display FLIR page in any of the 3 Displays or if its only limited to only some. In any case the SA page arguably isn't ideal for AMPCD, but wags said it is because "moving map". Depending on prefernence its more convenient to have in the DDI's, if you dont mind loosing the MM. What matters is capability to display it there still exists, and to determine for sure if the FLIR can be displayed there.

I dont think the software is fundamentally different if at all. Its still a legacy hornet supported by Boeing after all.

the Cf188 post incremental modernization phase 1 and 2 ( like the one in that video) is basically equivalent to F/A18A++. The reason for diffeerence in some avionics is the contractor hired for upgrades

https://www.l3t.com/mas/latest-news/2007/07/24/l-3-mas-delivers-first-aircraft-of-cf-18-modernization-program-phase-2/

And basically thus the only difference in avionics is that old DDI's are swapped out for LCD fully colour capable displays, and a different MPCD instead of the AMPCD which was developed by Northrup Grumman , wheras L3 Technologies ( formerly L3 Communications, and prior to that Litton Industries) was the prime Sub contractor for those projects, hence the different displays. Other core features are otherwise the same, with the difference for TGP being that RCAF simply chose the SNiper XR over Litening 2 or ATFLIR. But AFAIK no special modifications needed, since all such TGP's are basically plug and play for any aircraft with MIL STD 1553 BUS

, but unlike the Super Hornets the UI of the DDI pages are still seems to be in Green

I love the TGP thanks ED for putting it out, its fine in current state and can only get better.

It would be good to have a latch, I dont rate the switches in the Warthog and right now even the most sensitive of movements on the trigger the laser drops out and I have to re-squeeze, I think for the life of my Warthog it would be good to have a laser latch and opportunity to bind it elsewhere!

Would be good to be able to code it to my warthog slew mod depress.

I have the same problem so i thought that i need to make shortcut key for the trigger. Maybe they r gonna fix things right though. as a gamer, i honestly have no idea what is right.

I think (not sure) that the laser should fire on the 1st trigger stage, not the second one we have now. That'd make it much easier to hold down for longer and during maneuvering.

Hopefully we will soon be able to just program the MC to start lazing 15 secs (or which ever) before impact. Same as the F-16.
