Creating a Single Universal Liveries Folder for All Installs

Recommended Posts

I understod everything until I got to step 5. I can't find any "Mods" folder.

You should just create it using windows file explorer, the resulting path should be something like this:

\username\saved games\dcs{suffix}\Mods

inside it then create an "aircraft" folder, and inside that one create the folder "Liveries Import"

However, the step by step instructions that you are trying to follow are from sept/2016 ... currently, its better to use the hard link method that Uboat explained here (on section 2.Liveries):

Best regards

Not Working OB 2.5.4.25729

Just a heads-up, this plugin is not working in ModelViewer2 (implemented in opüenbets 2.5.4.25729 Dec-20-2018 ), which replaces the old Modelviewer (not available anymore).

Does this method still work in 2.5 open beta?

I'm not sure if it still works or not, but it is obsolete ... follow the instructions on the thread that I linked a couple of posts upward: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3336523&postcount=52

Any chance we could get obsolete "how-to's" like this hidden? Just spent far too much time trying to make this work, even though it did seem to have been updated at some point...

This is a thread from 5 years ago .. that alone should be a pretty good sign that the information it contains might be obsolete 🙄

The Forum doesn't have a facility to hide threads, so a Moderator  deleting the thread would be the only option, but I don't like that option as I prefer not to lose posts, even if obsolete.

Always working for me

Since DCS 2.5 I use just a single DCS install, so I don't know if the OP method still works or not.

How is it obsolete?

there's still plenty of users that run both Stable and Open Beta,

I myself run at least 8 installs, and localize all my liveries to a single smaller 512 GB SSD for all of those installs.

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9)

3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
