After the last update huey in MP is garbage , Doors gunners with gatling were use to destroy also apc and light armored vehicle, since the last update (nerf) they cant kill a damn apc anymore and the hardly start shooting, resulting the enemy AI headshotting you in few sec even flying at 100 Kts...... I mostly play in Dynamic MP campaign server and used to be lot of fun. Now not fun anymore.

you can adjust the gunners skill in the mission editor.

But they should not be penetrating Armour

Thinks

Can you name me one real life APC that can be destroyed by 7,62x51mm ammo? Cause that's what the guns in the Huey are using and is exactly what an APC's armor is supposed to withstand.

So why are the MP AI gunners still shooting (wasting ammo) on targets they can not damage?

ED has to adjust the ammo and AI a little bit.

Either the AI prioritize light Targets or ED give us the ability to choice between different ammo types.

In general i welcome ED´s way, that an M134 could not blast a APC anymore with a short blast.

As a reference to the video about 7.62mm AP rounds above.

In the demonstration video they fire at a target with 18mm armour. From what I can gather the BTR-80 has 10mm and BMP-1 has 6-33mm. A Minigun with AP rounds will do some serious damage to those vehicles.

I have a Huey video where a Dillon technician (makers of the minigun) states:

"It can fire all typse of standard NATO 7,62mm ammunition. That includes ball, tracer, slap, armour piercing... or even incendiary."

If it is a common loadout I don't know, but Huey+7.62mm Minigun+AP rounds are very

much a reality.

Sweden: - Hold my beer.

Have you ever heard about AP rounds? :smilewink:

3:50 - 7.62mm vs APC demo

Ok, it seems I stand corrected.

Back in the day when I was in the army I was told that it would take about 100 rounds of 7,62mm on a 1 square meter area to breach the armor of an M113 (not sure anymore if they mentioned a maximum distance for that). Guess they weren't talking AP rounds then. Or maybe the guy was just talking out of his rear end (happened on occasion...). But I find it funny that vehicles designed to protect crew and personnel from small arms fire are still that vulnerable to it.
