Windows ultimate power plan

Recommended Posts

So i ran across a YouTube video that purports to show a way to wring some extra performance out of Win 10 by unlocking an option that is normally hidden in the power/performance options in Control Panel in addition to the normal 3 . (Energy saving , balanced and performance) .

The option is revealed by entering an alpha-numeric string in Powershell . Does anyone have any experience with this ? Does it work in 1803 ? The video example shown was in 1809 .

Hm, Interesting. Maybe it'll make a difference in VR?

Windows ultimate power plan

for games that are intermittent in cpu usage it can help performance to keep the cpu clock maxed out with that option.... but dcs is not one of those games. :)

dcs always uses all of your cpu, so you won’t see any perf difference in dcs

I've seen it described as 'snake oil', I would be inclined to think it is true.

Couldn't hurt to just try it. VR can use any and all less latency.

Windows ultimate power plan

Nah, no Snake Oil, it’s a 1803 novelty made available on Win10-Workstation Edition only ( 4 CPUs, 6 TB of RAM etc ).

This is one of the more informative links:

What I meant was, it does not affect performance in any way. Try finding a benchmark that proves otherwise...

That’s correct. Me too

In fact, my latency in AIDA64 mem-latency is 54.8 in ultra mode and 52.7ns in energy saver, now explain that, lol

Counter productive in at least that regard. Repeatingly consistent ~2ns slooowwwer
