He is a graduate of Moscow Aviation Institute and worked for seven years with the Flight Research Institute. Senior Flying Instructor on the Yak 52 he was trained originally by DOSAAF the central Flight Training entity of the USSR. He was a member of Moscow aerobatic team, competed in national aerobatic competitions for five years.
