Downgrading to UH-1D

Would it be possible to downtune the UH-1H engine files to simulate a Delta configuration?

Which files would that be?

Thanks.

You can simulate it, sorta, by loading the thing up with fuel and door gunners on the NTTR map lol....

My unit recently ran an op on NTTR and man was that a different experience from Caucusus in the winter!!!! Try taking off as above without going over your EGT limitations!!! I took off at Creech using the main runway to do a running take off and used about a quarter of it before I reached ETL, and then in level flight I could only carry about 23% torque and was only making about 70kts in level flight!!!

While this isn't tweaking any files it reduces performance substantially, so if you are spoiled on H model performance this might be the trick!!

Running with a Max Torque Available of 40 psi, might be close ?

The current performance of the UH-1H is a little limited ATM due to EGT, so similar to the D in some respects, especially if fully loaded.

You could try adjusting the engine % in the ME, I don't know to what value though...

Adjusting the engine power to 100% in NTTR doesnt really seem to help. Even with 40% fuel and 2 M60 gunners the helo is at max green barely after you lift off.

I even tried changing the temperature in a mission to 50deg F. If you hover any higher than about 25ft for any length of time the engine will surely catch fire and quit...

A little sad to have an aircraft that can barely lift off in NTTR without redlining. I dont think its completely accurate.

My father spent alot of time flying in the back of UH-1H models during the Vietnam war. He said his pilots told him that you couldnt overload one of those helicopters with troops, even if you stuffed as many as would physically fit in the cabin...
