sounds missing

On the splash screen I have the all boxes (hear in helmet, etc etc) checked.

When in the plane under options, I have all the boxes checked but only two are lit up, the rest are grayed out, "hear in helmet" and "external" are working ok.

I have run the cleanup and repair but that did not fix the sound problem.

Need help.

Sorry I think I miss understood your issue.

Once in game the sound option that are greyed out can not be adjusted unless you are back in the main menu.

You should be seeing this, if so it is correct.

OK, now I understand about the gray buttons but I don't have the actual sounds in the game, no engine sound, wind, guns, tires, ECT I can still hear the instructor in the training flights fine.

Try to change "Main Audio Out" in Audio Options from Default to smth else
