[REPORTED] Can’t cancel waypoint in multiplayer

In multiplayer the tac commander. If you place down waypoints and you don’t set path but want to cancel setting the path, you are not able to. Even if you get the prompt disabled control of the unit it still applies the waypoints. This is a source of CTDs, lag hangs in multiplayer.

Are you trying to change or cancel the path with speed set? The best option is to set the path with speed set to 0, then when you are sure it is what you want you can set the speed and have them move along, or am I missing the point?

This is before you tell the unit to go on its way. For example, if you missclick and put an off road waypoint marker across the map, you have to leave the server for the if you want to cancel the marker

I think right-click should cancel a path as you draw it, I have requested it, this should fix the issue as I understand it, yes?

 

No, right click sends the unit on its way in my experience. It does not cancel the waypoint.

 

That's actually how I usually command units. I'll select a unit, click "set path", left click to put waypoint markers, then right click at the end to tell the unit to follow the waypoints. All these are default controls too as I have not changed anything in that regard.

Currently left click sets the marks, and right click confirms it. Having right click as cancel would be great as long as we also have a UI option or another key command to set the path. The ability for a server owner to limit the number and distance between waypoints or even certain types of waypoints would also be an incredible benefit to CA, as currently it's incredibly easy to kill a server by issuing long or offroad waypoints, leading server owners to almost universally disable CA, further reducing the module's value.

I've asked for a Mappable control for accept and cancel so that we can better customize the way we want it.

 

Also, the ability to turn off the visible waypoint flags/routes for everyone on the server, even spectators, would be cool (I don't know if this has already been added yet as I do not run a server).

 

There's a bug that lets everyone see the waypoint markers of the other team as white flags, which can really be annoying and detrimental to online CA usage.
