See 4-engine prop job at about 2:50 . My ride to Cuba in 1977 for a SeeBee's remodeling job.. That plane and me were Navy Reserve, then.

Enlisted in 1974 and did 6 years 'Bees. I am a relatively quiet guy. Navy was the most fun I ever had; all of it! Some of it was crap. But Navy teaches you to deal with it. LOL!! I'd do it again in a minute.

 

That 4-engine prop job, 2 engines were smoking before we got over the Bahamas. Captain told us, "If we ditch, this aircraft will stay afloat longer of any in the inventory, then." Middle of February! That was reassuring. Willow Grove Naval Air Station to Navy base Guantanamo, Cuba non-stop, about a 7 hour ride me and a 54 guy work crew. Cuba in February was dam well lovely---great vacation.
