Default What happened to those wonderful kneeboard bookmarks?!??

Title pretty much says it all. Those bookmarks are SO incredibly handy and they're missing from the most recent 1.5.x and 2.0.x builds.

I've only seen them in Belsimtek and Polychop modules and see that they are still working with the Gazelle. I was hoping they would become a standard feature rather than just limited to a few modules but am nervous they are being removed from my favourites: UH-1 & Mi-8

Is this just an oversight with the current release or are they being removed permanently?

If anyone has any info, I'd appreciate it. Tnx!

Surely you can set them yourself?

I haven't tested it yet, but there are options to assign 9 (I think) bookmarks in the controls section

*I just checked - you can assign 10 bookmarks

Sry I wasn't clear. It's the bookmark function in general that has been removed. So you can no longer set/use ANY bookmarks. The hotkeys for these functions are gone from the setup!

However, I should have been more specific. I'm using the current (as of this writing) versions: 1.5.5.58891 (beta) and 2.0.4.59428 (alpha). I just updated the stable version (1.5.5.58891 - same as beta) to test that too and they are also missing.

Perhaps you are running an older version when they were enabled?

I see. I'm using the current stable 1.5.5 and 2.04 releases.

1.5.5.58891.190

2.0.4.59188.134

Tnx for the info Brixmis. But something seems odd.

I'm using a newer (2.0.4.59428.142) alpha than you (2.0.4.59188.134) which is perhaps why I'm missing the bookmark feature and you are not. DCS Current Versions.

However, we're both using the same stable/beta version (1.5.5.58891.190) so it should be the same?!?!!

...

Ok, I just jumped in for another test. It's JUST the UH-1 that is missing the bookmarks. The Mi-8, MiG-15, etc. still have them. I was only testing with the UH-1. I'm assuming you were testing with a different Belsimtek module?

Hopefully this means that it's just an oversight by Belsimtek on their latest UH-1 update? I hope so because I really rely on those bookmarks! Essential feature for large kneeboards!

Okay - the kneeboard shortcuts are missing from a number of modules in the 1.5.5 version:

A-10C
Hawk
Ka-50
MiG-21bis
P-51D
TF-51D
UH-1H

All the others have them - so it's not just a Belsimtek thing. Maybe there is a special reason why only those modules don't have the shortcuts.

*just checked v2.0.4 and it's exactly the same.

I suspect kneeboard bookmarks are one of the most undiscovered features of DCS. I've seen custom kneeboard threads that request this feature not knowing that it already exists.

Admittedly, it's only on certain modules (Belsimtek & Polychop). Fortunately for me, I fly helicopters almost exclusively and so other than the KA-50, I'm covered. But, I'd LOVE to see this super useful feature made standard for ALL DCS modules.

Once you've used them, you can never go back to the tedium of endless page flipping!

As far as I've seen it is a Belsimtek & Polychop thing. The only module I don't have from Belsimtek is the F-5E so I can't check that but am guessing it has it too.

The other modules you listed (other than UH-1 error) are ED/RAZBAM/VEAO/Leatherneck.

Regardless, it's only available on certain modules. From what I've seen Belsimtek/Polychop include it, others don't. But I don't have all the other modules to check.
