[REPORTED] INS alignment issue

backstab

something is broken.

No velocity vector, no compass, no turning map

I just checked all three after today's hotfix and they all work for me.

I ran a quick test with the Cold and Dark quick mission.

  • The GND INS alignment does not start to count down, just flashes with 0s for a while
  • If I switch to NAV everything looks normal, except the INS was not done at all
  • If I switch to IFA the compass and G load on the HUD freezes (HSI stops rotating too)

A few Issues

So after this latest hotfix, i am noticing a few issues with the aircraft. First, when i tried to align my iNS both GND and from CV, they didnt align at all. On CV i kept getting INS ATT and couldn't fix it so I'm not sure what i did wrong. The 2nd issue is if i tried to use BALT, and my aircraft wouldn't maintain level flight and would keep pitching randomly. I also had another issue where my heading tape wouldn't update on my HUD but i assume that was part of my INS issue. Thoughts?

Carrier INS Not Working

I have tested this issue 3 times, each of one resulted in the same error.

I am in the Persian Gulf map, just with the Stennis, 4 escorts and my cold F/A-18C.

After following the cold start procedure, when trying to align and setting the alignment knob in the CV position nothing happens.

The true air speed indicated in the HSI is 70T although the carrier is moving at 10Kn and there is no wind. The true air speed doesn't change even if I change the speed of the carrier. I don't know if that has something to do with it.

Same issues. INS will not run at all on CV Align, and Ground Align shows zeros for countdown, but does show elapsed time. I can get airborne and up to around FL15 before nav systems freeze.

OK So I discovered what it was. Yes the autostart wasnt setting the INS switch to the 4th position to the right (whatever that was) So now you just manually set the INS to NAV which is the 3rd choice clockwise. It changed somehow.

Is there a time frame for a fix for this? As it stands Hornet is not functional and would be sent to the hangar.

Guys have you just selected NAV on the INS knob? I flew the Hornet yesterday, cold and dark, and I did noticed the INS was aligned already. When I selected GND, the counter went up. I just switched it to NAV, and everything worked normally for me. Please check and let me know.

Same. Just use NAV.
