If not here are the digikey product numbers

Perfect. TY! I mean damn you! I have to go spend more money now! :) They are pretty cheap though. Thanks again.

BTW, do you get credit for customer reference? I notice there is a field in the order page.

No but thanks for the thought, I think that's something you can use perhaps like "big switch" and digikey will remember what "big switch" is and it will add it to your order so you don't have to go find it. I think.

Digikey says:

Functionality has been added to the website that will allow you, a "Registered" customer, to place your orders by entering your Customer Reference Number that has previously been tied to a Digi-Key part number. The Customer Reference field’s label is now a link and the help page will explain this feature

Damn good job Peter on your pit. Just one thing bugs me, the knobs on your lighting panel. I don't know if you've changed them but, if not I've found the very ones from the A-10 on digikey. Best part they're $0.61 each.

As well as the smaller version:

Thanks for the pointers - time to spend a little more money :)

Speaking of money. I know where to get these beauties

Look at them... that strip lights up, I bet they're made out of that plastic that's smooth but rubbery... Mmm... Sorry, I like me some knobs. (you have the dirty mind not me)

Anyway these are made by EHC the only issue is they're special order only. They have a really great website.

Perhaps I can catch the interest of someone with a few more coins than I to put in an order on behalf of all of us and we can buy from them?

UPDATE:

Hahaha I found where I can buy them.

$30 a pop. I also found out that that the knobs I found on digikey are not the ones out of the A-10. The EHC ones are. Because of course the air force would be the more expensive ones.

That is why I started making copies and did the painting tutorial. Unfortunately I am not planning on making a run any time soon working 52 hours a week.

CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

Hopefully going to try a run on these this week. Greekbull and I both got busy with Life and haven't been able to try yet. Hopefully in a month or two we'll have the process down and be able to list some for sale, still no idea on price but I'm guessing a lot less than $30 each. :)

I bought some acrylic and some matte black rustoleum spray paint and attempted to spray my panel black.

Let me sum it up.

Dust, dust, and peeling probably from oil.

So I tried to sand it with 600 git for a better finish. That went badly. It all went badly...

Help. What kinds of paints and techniques do you guys use to paint your panels laser cutting and engraving? Also I plan to engrave it with a laser cutter. (which can do engraving too)

Aug 5, 2022 #1 I've been toying with picking up a laser machine for marking front panels up and giving my center points for my drillpress. Has anyone tried this or does anyone have something setup that they use that they'd like to share? Im not loooking to cut the metal (through cut) so I've been looking at some lower powered machines (10W optical). Thoughts?
