AnubisYinepu
Flew my Spitfire at altitude and switched off the engine for a nice silent glide back to earth. But I kept hearing this faint jet sound in the cockpit which is much more pronounced externally. Sounds as if a jet is flying (rumbling) past in the far distance. Zooming out from the aircraft reduce the sound to nothing which mean that the sound is definitely associated with the aircraft. Tried gliding other aircraft with the same result. Does not distract terribly from the immersive experience but still. Anyone else notice this?
Sandman1330
Noticed it in the A10, though I never thought to shut down the engines to see if it’s still there. I just thought it was the sound of a pump or something that they added... it sounds like a fuel pump to me. AnubisYinepu
Cut the A10 engines and listen externally (press F2). Definitely an ambient jet rumble noise. Meant to increase the immersive effect if there is another aircraft around. If you do not expect other traffic around, it might make you worry a bit. AnubisYinepu
The (ambient) external aircraft sound will be fine if the right sound is used. Piston (or in the future turbine aircraft) need a different sound to the rumbling jet sound.

ED Team btd Posted January 18, 2019 ED Team Share Posted January 18, 2019 Please, try temporarily move ..LockOnExe\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\PlaneVibrTurbulenceIn.wav file to some backup folder anywhere. Does this solve the problem? Best regards, Kanstantsin Kuzniatsou (btd) https://soundcloud.com/btd
thrustvector
well thanks for trying BTD, but still the same, I even disabled my sound mod for it just in case, but not that either, have you noticed it as well?
ED Team btd Posted January 18, 2019 ED Team Share Posted January 18, 2019 No, I'm trying to figure out what the sound file is. And why is he on the A-10 and on the Yak-52. They almost do not have the same sound files. On both planes the same sound? Maybe a sound mod? thrustvector
I disabled all mods and even ran repair a while ago no change, its a reall in the distance sound like when a plane has gone away and you still here the engines echoing, on a jet probably not notice too much but on a prop it sounds bad, ill check my 10c later and report if I have it there, but don't think so
thrustvector
ok this may help, in the 10c F3 view as it comes towards you it starts there, but as it goes away to around 2mm big, that's the noise, now I don't think theres anything wrong with the hog, that's the same sound its always had, but as said not on a prop
ED Team btd Posted January 21, 2019 ED Team Share Posted January 21, 2019 We have a different set of sounds for the A10, P51 or Yak-52. It is better to look at a particular model. If I remove the sound of the engine on the P51, I have only the sound of the wind. Try to move the \ LockOnExe \ Sounds \ Effects \ Aircrafts \ P-51D \ PlaneWind.wav sound to any folder. The problem disappeared? Perhaps the low frequency hum in this sound causes inconvenience.
