Incorrect Liveries

For the 53rd and Mayo skins, the roughmet gives the planes the appearance that isn't metallic as seen in photo references.

References of the 53rd FS of the 36th FG:

The aircraft painted for the 36th FG had some shine to them, enough that I'd call it baremetal, as the default USAF Standard skin our P-47 is. The roughmet is too rough, and the blue channel is nearly eliminated on the main body of the aircraft where it'd be ideal. The USAF Standard skin is a good model for how the white body of the 53rd and Mayo skins should appear as

Let us see your description.lua :music_whistling:

Let's see YOUR description.lua. You know these are default skins right? Or open your skins in your modelviewer and see them yourself. Or look at screenshots literally anyone else has taken of either of these skins. I don't need to post my description.lua, because this is an issue everyone has. And if you think you dont, post a screenshot of one of these skins.

Also I'm away from my PC until the 20th so description.lua is difficult for me to get a hold of right now.

so, there could be two problems only if the default-official skin is correct.

1. in the description.lua the used texture-map numbering is wrong (low probability) should be ROUGHMET (13).

2. Texture RGB channels is wrong. (high probability with the green channel)

I always thought these two skins were just unfinished by ED (like some P-51 ones, which still haven't been converted to roughmets to this day) as part of the whole early access thing. We saw them being like that already on the pre-release videos. After all, when Fw-190A-8 went early access, it also had pretty much only one skin finished and usable. ED most probably know about the issue, but poking them with a bit of reminder doesn't hurt.

What I'm more interested in is how cromhunt managed to fix them unofficially, or where the fixed ones can be dowloaded from (IF they're publically available).

It depends on the used materials what definied in the 3d model file. The final visual effect differ (shine width/intensity, reflection intensity as RGB channels) by the usage of default/aluminium/chrome materials.

The latter. I had cracked open the roughmets for both skins and there was a lot more green on these skins than on the default (which looks perfect)

The 53rd FS livery for the P-47 still has broken roughmets, approaching three years later.
