Quaggles
When using an AIM-9X on a LAU-127 pylon (The single AIM-9X wing pylon) the seeker cannot look more than 20 degrees or so off boresight with JHMCS. Switching to a wingtip AIM-9X or LAU-115 dual rack pylon and you can utilise the full 90 degrees. CoBlue
Confirmed & Good find Sir . So that's why some of my 9x behave so strangely when loaded on Lau127-pylons. i7 8700k@4.7, 1080ti, DDR4 32GB, 2x SSD , HD 2TB, W10, ASUS 27", TrackIr5, TMWH, X-56, GProR. Arlios
From what it appears, is that the single mount pylons are obstructing the seeker's head, Examples:
Quaggles
That makes sense in the vertical axis to an extent but this behaviour even occurs aiming left and right. The AIM-9X seeker also doesn't seem to get masked by the fuselage when you are using an AIM-9X on the left pylon and lock someone up on your right for example so I'm not sure if this is intentional. Eldur
I always had the impression that AIM-9 and 120s on LAU-127 were unrealistic anyway - at least that's what ED stated once IIRC.
