Default SLI & VR?

Pilots,

I am experiencing the same shuttering as everyone else in VR, even though I am running an EVGA 1080 Ti FE. The question I have is, would it be beneficial to run DCS VR in SLI or should I just wait until the next batch of NVidia cards come out next year?

Maybe you should wait a bit until the performance gets fixed.

The Oculus API doesnt directly support SLi or XFire.

1) VR doesn't support SLI
2) Nvidia 1080Ti SLI is slower than single card even in normal gaming

If VR would support SLI well, it would be so that one card is used for one eye rendering, so you would benefit a lot from it that way.

There should be a huge banner on the site that you can't miss stating SLI NOT SUPPORTED.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

@Gladman, can you point me to that locations because I guess I did miss that banner. I looked at https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/ where I assumed information like that would be located. If it was, I simply missed it.

Read again mate, he wrote "there should be a huge banner" etc.

That being said, the aforementioned lack of SLI support is a global "feature" of Occulus and applies to all PC games out there, so there's no need to single out ED site for lack of such an info, as it's more of a "public knowledge"

I wish "they" would all hop onto the DX12 or Vulcan train with a full feature set supported, including m-GPU.

m-GPU sounds so promising, I wonder why no one actually picked it up, maybe I am wrong here and it's already supported on titles I am unaware of. Still, the VR-API's would need to support it too I assume.

DX12 would further limit the UserBase to Windows 10.
Alienating the Userbase is constantly being discussed because of the Rel/OpenBeta/OpenAlpha Branches.

take the DCS Userbase and Drop everyone not running Windows10 and a GPU Less than 4 years old, and people will riot.

Besides, the DX11 engine (EDGE) hasnt even fully matured yet, give it a chance.

I hear you. But Windows 7 is now 8 years old. At some point, you have to purge the herd to move on. Now the GPU could be a problem.

Let's hope for EDGE optimization!
