foxbat155
Looks great, but....., range and azimuth scales are not displayed, those are engraved on the scope's glass. Screen should look like here: RP-21 screen photo, what is interesting this radar is further development on RP-1/2/5 family. One more thing: in MiG-19 was mounted ASP-5N gunsight, ASP-5ND is from early MiG-21, and from Su-7.
OverStratos
Hi Foxbat, You´re seeing WIP pictures, we are working in the radar modes and functionality and keeping colors and indications simple. It will be in the correct colors and with night and day modes implemented. Regarding the sight, you´re right, it must be an ASP-5N. I realized it was wrong but haven´t changed the textures yet while working on other stuff. Thanks
Magot
RP-5 have differ screen not like RP-21. But scale lines was really engraved on the scope's glass. So probably not a source of light. Background light of radar screen was IRL a blue light? As next thing this is SL-1 radar chinese copy of Izmurud RP-5 had probably a bit a differ scale: SL-1 scale 16 kilometres, and its lock-on zone, 6 km RP-5 had scale: 12 kilometres and the lock-on zone, 4 km on Zeus images is scale 14 km/ 6 km? :) Edited September 25, 2018 by Magot
foxbat155
You right Magot, RP-21 screen looks different but.... colors are the same. As far I know all early Soviet's scopes had dark yellow background.
pepin1234
Search and Tracking antennas are both working. The tracking antenna has locked onto the bomber and feeding range info to the gunsight. I don’t understand well this pictures. So apparently the target is locked, the radar display is blanck when lock. So where is the range from target displayed? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Jonne
There is a barely visible mark between the 4 and the 2. I would guess this is the target. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Zeus67
I don’t understand well this pictures. So apparently the target is locked, the radar display is blanck when lock. So where is the range from target displayed? To the left of the ASP-5 gunsight housing you can see a gauge with colored markings. That is the range-to-target display. When the radar gunsight is enabled, it shows the range from the radar. Schmidtfire
Looks very promising! Hope to see this bird in my module-list soon ;) Two questions: Does it have IFF capability? I know it is a gunnery radar, but can it somehow assist in Air-Air employment of 57mm rockets?
Jester986
In the F-86 I use the gunnery radar as ccip of sorts so maybe if theres an attack profile where rockets and bullets have the same ballistics?

The MiG-19P does have a SRO-2 IFF system, which includes a self-destruct button. But I don't see any IFF interrogation button among the radar controls, although it does have a Home-On-Jammer function. Zeus67
I see it. Anyway in the second pic that seem to have a locked target this gauge is at 0 all the way to the right. The range scale is in meters (of course :smartass:) and it goes from 0 to 2000. The 0 in the scale is to the left. The needle is saying that the range to target is over 2000 meters, which you can verify by looking at the scope. Zeus67
3 night modes, one day mode? Day and night modes only. It is just that the night mode reacts to ambient light. During the day, the icons are too faint to be seen. At night they can be seen perfectly. And the last one is to show that it becomes faint if you shine a bright light on the scope at night. The radar scope is a cathode ray tube that requires a backlight to make contrast when a bright light source is nearby. That is one of the reasons why it has a hood over the scope. BTW, the hood can be removed.
