Knock-Knock

Recommended Posts

And also thank you for that ED :thumbup:

Open with Notepad++

..\DCS World OpenBeta\Config\graphics.lua

Line 18

--fps counter text color , uncomment to change

--statsColor = {255,255,0}

for example for white counter

statsColor = {255,255,255}

Should pass IC. Ive been using custom graphics lua for ages.

Ah so nothing new then :)

Did a quick search but found no mention of it, and couldnt remember seeing it in the file - granted, I just scroll way down in the end of the file, when I do a little tweaky .

Well, that worked as far as letting me do it. However, in game the font is still red. I went back and checked the file and it's set at 255,255,255

Eh?

Take the - marks out from in front of the numbers and try it.

Is there any way to increase the size of that FPS counter? My old eyes are straining to see it.

As Steve Gee said, uncomment the line by removing the -- (see attached)

When editing .lua files, or any editable game file, remember to use an editor like "Notepad++"

I guess a lot more is possible than I knew, I haven't went deeply into DCS modding yet even tho I was looking forward to all the time ... DCS is big and getting bigger, can't enjoy everthing that fast, I guess that's good which means it'll be lots of experiences for many many years to come.

I've asked for this more than a year back in wishlist I think but I'm not sure if it's a new addition because of that or it was always in and I just never noticed it. I didn't notice the change in patch notes either, I read all the notes.

But THANKS a lot for reminding us about it !!!

Yes, I was using Notepad. Changing the numbers wasn't a problem. Removing the -- is when it got locked up.

You have to use Notepad++, not Notepad.

I don't know what notebook ++ is but isn't the important part that I changed the numbers?

Notepad++ is a better editor. Gives you access to code-based functionalities. If you don't want to use it, makes sure you open Notepad as administrator, browse to the file and open it. Then you'll be able to save the .lua file.

Normal Notepad changes the file a bit when you save it, and that's why it wasn't working for you, BuzzU.

Notepad++ preserves the 'invisible' formatting. It's a tiny download and far better for poking around files that aren't strictly text files.
