Is it possible to use presets for VR? I'd like to have one set up for general VR (higher settings) and one for recording/streaming (lower settings.)

I'm pretty sure this used to be a thing, but the latest gui utility now automatically switches back to default VR when I launch with the VR on option.

 

Yes, using different presets for different tasks, e.g. VR/non VR is one of the main functions of this amazing utility.

You don't launch it from the 'VR On' button, you use presets. Watch Skate's video on post #1 for full explanation.

looking for a file option.lua in config but does not found it

 

Which Config Folder? There is always an Options.lua in the /Saved Games/DCS/Config folder.

The trouble is I want to have multiple presets for VR on as well.

 

For now:

Use Preset 1-4, and Use normal launch, but have the preset config LUA set to have VR enabled in the options.lua

 

I will see about adding more Presets (ie Preset 1-4, plus PresetVR 1-4)

 

I'm Condensing/Cleaning code right now, since we are in between major changes to DCS.

 

Launch / Launch VR On and Launch VR Off may change to a Single LAUNCH DCS Button w/ VR ON/VR OFF Option Setting below it, but I'm not sure.

If Anything the Code will condense and the VR On / VR Off Buttons will simply radio call the Launch Script Function, but change an internal VR On / VR Off Variable before Launch, and the Big Launch Button will be removed.

 

The App Auto Changing to VR Preset when Clicking VR Launch will also Change (Allowing use to use whatever preset they choose).

How to launch multuple instances of the dedicated server?

I looking for information on how to use DUU to run multiple instances of the dedicated server. On the Dedicated Server Setting Screen it looks like there is a provision for setting only one alternate write directory. So how do you designate multiple write directories then launch each separate instance? I am not understanding something about launching the dedicated server.

 

 

Seems like it would be great addition this screen to provide radio selection buttons for up to four servers, each showing their respective write directory and each with a launch button.

with my utility, set the write folder name, launch, change the name in the txt box, launch again, repeat as needed

I have a question concerning the 'clean command' when used via the console (not this app) if i may. Does clean completely remove any non vanilla file from any folder that is not part of the current versions manifest, i.e. even user missions and custom campaigns manually placed in ....\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Missions\Campaigns for example? Or are there certain file types or folders that are being left untouched by cleaning? And, does clean do a repair as well?

This Updater Utility was just on my wishlist

 

Thank you..... with my collapsed memory issues I paint myself into corners, then figure out what I SHOULD have done, and sometimes it's too late to revert...... i.e; when drag/dropping MODS from users, I read that Modman/JSGME should be considered the ONLY way(s) to manage Mods. Now having troubles with description.lua this, English that, and some "can't won't don't" :)

 

 

A mild "ARGH!"...... would like very much to avoid reverting to fresh install of World 2.5 and purchased aircraft; this app appears to be worth a try.....success or failure here, thanks either way.

Any roadmap of this handling multiple instances of DCS executables and distinction of Dedicated server? Currently the updater isn't tracking the Process ID (PID) of the launched DCS.exe (or even the path) and cannot discern which is dedicated server and which is normal DCS on the same machine, and thus it will freeze if you run DS first so you cannot launch another and it will kill a random DCS.exe process from the process detector, which makes it very much about single DCS instances on the same PC.

Why would you want to launch dedicated server and normal DCS on the same system?, Just run DCS in Normal MP Mode.

I will push out an update for new modules and some adjustments asap,

Im still in the middle of rebuilding my PC after surge took it out, the delay right now is some of the Suites have really tight DRM rules, so transfering the license from one machine to another is a process.

Too be able to edit a mission without having to take down multiple instances of the dedicated server.

I just wanted to add to what others have said about this remarkably useful utility. As someone that frequently switches between VR gameplay and a Track IR, I find this tool priceless as it allows me to effortlessly switch between versions.
