Mad Dog 7.62
I am getting excited about the upcoming F-86 Sabre. I recall reading a book many years ago in which the pilot describes in detail what its like to fly it, he was on a routine courier flight during the cold war in Europe if I remember correctly. I can't recall the name of the book, but I think it had "stars" in it. Anyone ever read this? Any other good books about the F-86? BTW I do remember that pilot talking about the F-86 as being very easy to fly, saying even his grandmother could fly it!! derelor
I have those: http://www.amazon.de/North-American-Owners-Workshop-Manual/dp/076034292X/ http://www.amazon.de/American-Pilots-Flight-Operating-Instructions/dp/1935700391/ They do not cover the exact variant of the F-86 we are getting, but are very helpful nonetheless. If anyone has this document in PDF format, please let me know: http://www.avialogs.com/en/aircraft/usa/northamericanaviation/f-86sabre/f-86f-25-thru-40-sabre-standard-aircraft-characteristics.html#download Thanks! 1338 - beyond leet ED Forum rules EN|DE|RU
Sceptre
The book "Life as a Fighter Pilot" by Jerry W. Cook is about an F-4 pilot, but near the beginning he has some interesting things about the Sabre that is referenced during his training to fly jets, including the fact you need to duck before ejecting or you can get decapitated!
